Dave's 365

Super horse shot Dave, the image would have stood up without the ponies too as a nice landscape ;)

193/365 - Lasers racing at Stokes Bay Sailing Club.

Taken with the Nikkor 105mm f2.8 with polariser and ND110 filter at 1.3 sec, f4, ISO200 :)

i have just got to say that i have, really loved your 365 so far mate. im from Portsmouth original so the pictures are like a trip down memory lane.

Thats a really interesting shot today Dave, not sure if it works or not, but gotta say hats off for trying something different.

Thanks Julian.....I know what I wanted to achieve but it didn't quite work out as planned, but thought I'd post anyway. I'm not sure about it.....yet!

It's original Dave and far from boring. I think it looks a little flat and the background detail of the Isle of Wight maybe doesn't help (hmmm but what do I know ;) ), but you can't change that ;)

Sounds like most of mine Dave!! But I like it. :)
Thanks JD, but just to check, have you been drinking?:lol:

I did process a version with a much darker sky, but I felt it distracted from the boats with the sky becoming the focus of the image. Just out of interest, what do you mean about the background?

Too me the detail in the land takes something away from the interest of the boats. But not much you could do about that given you were in the Solent taking the picture, unless you can move the Isle of Wight ;)

Anyway just an opinion, still a really interesting shot ;)

The windsurfer is very creative mate and the refraction is very well executed

Knew I'd get that wrong, something I know very little about... Thought some of the movement was the guys yanking on the handle for speed, oh well.

194/365 - Beaulieu Garage.

I was passing through Beaulieu today so I thought I'd stop and look in the garage. They usually have loads of classic cars for sale and I spotted these 'out the back'. Not a great angle but it was taken over a 6' brick wall!

Interesting cars, know the garage you mean, well done for getting that shot over a high wall ;)

195/365 - River Trips.

Tonight was a camera club outing down to Hamble-le-Rice. Thought I'd try something different. Just wish I had a greater depth of field on the sign. :naughty:

Thanks Jonny. Well, all I can tell you is that I've had more use out of the 105mm, but that's because I love macro. Personally I wouldn't be without either, so get both - it's only money! :D

196/365 - Windsurfer at Stokes Bay

I went down to the sailing club tonight and got this shot of Russ Clark blasting about on his windsurfer. (Lisa - it's nearly a boat!)
