The TP52 - 2026 Darkslinger's 52 for 26

Another good set Bill! Your chosen one is very good, but I do rather like your first shot - it has a rather ethereal feel to it.

Such a shame that the crow wasn't a couple of crows feet from the puddle as that may have allowed you to catch all of it in the puddle, which would have been excellent.
I do like the shot you chose though, it works really well.

A nice set Bill. I like the one you've chosen, the framing is lovely.

I'm now expecting a crow pic every week :)
It's funny that the two of you made the comments about crows. The crows that follow me because I have peanuts actually were good about posing and I did take some shots of them
These three let me get quite close

As did this one with a second crow on the sign being in the reflection

Super shots there Bill. I like the first one myself.
Thanks Wayne, yeah I liked how the lines of the flag poles and the building looked in the puddle.
Nice. The one sided composition works really well.
Thanks Nick.
I like the composition also - nicely done
Thank you Adam
Good set again Bill, the b&w shots work especially well, great reflections in the colour shots but maybe they are a bit “too much” when next to the more subdued B&W but that’s just me
Thanks Keith, the colour shots are close to SOOC, the light really saturated the colours.
A fine set. It's the last one for me :) The vertical things and a blob of red :)
Thanks Dave, yeah, I wasn't expecting much on my travels to Steveston but I ended up happy with what I got.
Nice set as always Bill. +1 for your chosen shot, but I like the Derby Reach shot too.
Thanks Simon, light was great that day.

Week 10 Inspired by Song

Well back to the crappy weather from vacation. From 30 degrees each day to a high of 8 today...just sayin'...

Anyway, I had an idea for this theme, of course the weather wouldn't cooperate...I was thinking about "Only Happy When it Rains" by Garbage but, of course, all I got was sun and snow...

I did get this though
Week 10 - Inspired by a Song 1.jpg

Yesterday we had our only snowfall so I wandered around New Westminster and this made me think of "Red House" by Jimi Hendrix
Week 10 - Inspired by a Song 2.jpg

And "Magic Bus" by the Who
Week 10 - Inspired by a Song 3.jpg

By this time I had different songs worming through my head and the line from "Paint It, Black" by the Stones (I see a red door, and I want to paint it black) popped up when I saw this.
Week 10 - Inspired by a Song 4.jpg

And on the black theme, this made me think of "Back to Black" by Amy Winehouse
Week 10 - Inspired by a Song 6.jpg

I really like how your chosen shot feels, and how the subject jumps out from everything else.

Another lovely set Bill and I find it hard to choose a favourite. The bus shot just wins though.

Great set Bill and you’ve picked the best one. Bus really stands out in the scene and have captured the falling snow just right.(y)

A good set of images overall, I would have chosen Magic bus too, but I do really like The Who.

Good set @Darkslinger

I think the chosen image is the one I would have chosen also.
Thanks Adam.
That's a fantastic shot. I love the feel of the whole set.

They have an almost tilt/shift miniature feel to them.
Thanks Kell, truth be told I've been playing with the Nik Collection and some of the images have had bokeh effects added to them.
Excellent set, really like your chosen shot.
Thanks Allan

Thanks Nick, the snow really made it for me

Thanks Pete

Thanks Keith, I was playing with auto ISO and had the exposure set at 1/400 to see if it would capture the snowfall, it worked well
Another cracking set Bill!
Thank you Simon
A good set of images overall, I would have chosen Magic bus too, but I do really like The Who.
Thanks Dominic, one of my all time favs as well
A great set!
Thanks Paul

Week 11 Red

A walk around the city in the rain resulted it a few images with red in them

Plenty to choose from in this series Bill. The one featuring the dogs is an easy favourite for me. :)

Great set as usual Bill

Spoilt for choice!

Great set as ever!

I think I might have gone for "Maple Leaf Disposal" - who knew Canada had such a great problem with Autumn / Fall leaves from just one type of tree?! We just let the leaves stop the trains (sadly true!).

Red door on the mono wall for me - really striking graphic image.

Not normally keen on animal / pet pictures but this one really works. I also like the red handrails in the train station.

Yep, me too, thanks Pete.

Maple Leafs and Beavers...have to love them to be Canadian...just sayin'
All good captures I think my fav is the colour pop door.

Nice set though
Yeah, I would have liked to use that for the song theme, "I see a red door and I want to paint it black..."
Good set Bill, really like the door shot but hard to beat a dog pic.
I always like a dog shot, and these two were sitting on the steps of one of my favourite coffee shops so I took a couple of quick captures and the little guy in red just stared at me.
As above a good set and hard to choose a favourite
Thanks Allan

Thanks Phil, it was one of a couple of red doors that I took.
Not normally keen on animal / pet pictures but this one really works. I also like the red handrails in the train station.
Thanks Alan, I do like dog shots but I also like subway/train stations...
All good Bill - I like the door shot.
Thanks Simon.

Week 12 Daily Life

I kind of interpreted this as a "day in the life of", for some of the shots

For some, singing is part of daily life
Week 12 - Daily Life 1.jpg

And for some, offering the opportunity for someone to sing is part of their daily life
Week 12 - Daily Life 2.jpg

For others it's just about the groceries
Week 12 - Daily Life 3.jpg

Or the BBQ Duck
Week 12 - Daily Life 4.jpg

Or keeping the chicken windows clean
Week 12 - Daily Life 5.jpg

And sometimes it just about the things hanging around waiting to be used
Week 12 - Daily Life 6.jpg

Top set again Bill. I quite liked the man sorting boxes outside his shop for the theme but they all work.

Week 13 Night Sky

Not really a sky or night sky shooter but I thought that I'd shoehorn a few downtown shots that have the night sky in the background...

I first thought of a couple of the iconic theater signs on Granville Street
Week 13 - Night Sky 1.jpg

Week 13 - Night Sky 2.jpg

And a shot of the Vancouver Block Clock built in 1912
Week 13 - Night Sky 3.jpg

And
a shot of the lights outside the Vancouver Art Gallery
Week 13 - Night Sky 4.jpg

I always like shots of street vendors
Week 13 - Night Sky 5.jpg

And the lighted art installation on the other side of the Vancouver Art Gallery
Week 13 - Night Sky 6.jpg

Fab set Bill and you selected the right one :)

Wonderful shots there Bill

Nice set of shots - I particularly like the geometries in the last one!

Also - love the set of images for daily life - some great shots there.
