Great set Bill and I like the one you've chosen. I also really like the "One of the stations" with it's dark frame and shadows.
Thanks Pete!Great set Bill and I like the one you've chosen. I also really like the "One of the stations" with it's dark frame and shadows.
Thanks Adam, the #6 shot was a last minute grab as the train reached the station. I liked how the light cast the shadows onto the platform.I like those and the orange pop on the doughnuts is good.
I quite like number 6 also. The shadows and light through the window is lovely.
Thanks Keith, yeah, maybe Artisans would have been a better choice. Granville Island is known for it's artists and artisans so I'm not sure if the machine shops are more industrial or art oriented.I like doughnuts, really like the industrial shots though especially the second industrial.
Guess Artists is a typo/auto correct helping out again?
Thank you Simon.Great set as always Bill
Thanks Paul, I think that was a 3 or 4 shot HDR. The interior was very dark. I like looking into machine shops, there's always a story there...A great set. I really like the view through the open window - that really speaks to me.
LOL, when I saw the doughnuts there all I could think of was Homer Simpson...A difficult call to choose an image from your selection.
Personally I may have gone for the one with the lathes, because I quite like engineering shops, but I do get the choice of the iced donuts because of the colour contrasts.
D'oh !LOL, when I saw the doughnuts there all I could think of was Homer Simpson...
Thanks Simon, no, I was on my way out by that time and they were on the inside while I was on the outside...last thing I need is more sugar and calories...Another great set of pictures! Did you buy a doughnut? I don't think I could resist the temptation.
I hear you Alan but...doughnuutttssss...gaaahhhh....I’d have picked “one of the stations”, enjoying the complexity of the structures and shadows in the image

Thanks Paul, I do seem to get a lot of crows in any set of images that I take near where I live...good thing I like crowsA good set Bill (as ever). My favourite is the side table & crow.
Yeah, I would be kind of worried that I'd be picking shards of glass out of my ramen...Good set for broken Bill, noodles not the most inviting or safe with the outer pane pointy bits
Thanks Simon.Another fine selection Bill. Your chosen shot works best for me, but they're all suitable.
Thank you Allan. The crow and the noodle shop stand out for me
Thanks Adam.I like the chosen image and fits the theme perfectly
LOL, I was waiting for some type of wisecrack...Cracking! (Sorry)
I like that, the pop of clean colour against the damage.
Thanks Tim, it was the colours that caught my eye, and then the fact that they seem to have tried to cover up the damage with them...All on theme for the shot, but your choice works well because of the vibrancy of the stickers![]()
Thanks Pete, I always like a good crow (or dog) shot.I do like the one you've chosen Bill. The splash of colour works nicely. I like the crow one too.

I like all of those, especially the lady walking with red coat and brolly.
Nice set![]()
I'm waiting for the rain and planning on going out with my OM TG-7.
I feel drawn towards the shot with the lady in the red coat. It's the contrast of the colour and the dull day for me.
I do like your chosen image but the lady in the red coat is my favourite. The splash of colour and the wet pavement really make the shot.
Superb set Bill. My choice would be red hydrant, coat and brolly pic![]()
Thanks Allan, I was trying to emphasize the reflection of the lights. The guy with the brolly just added some context and interest in the background.I do like your chosen image the focus being on the foreground is a clever touch.
Thanks Paul, that was definitely the other contender, for exactly the reasons that you talk about.Another great set, any of which would have made a fine entry.
I think I might have gone for The Drop, just because it looks so wet! The composition of that shot is edgy, and I like edgy.
Thanks DominicThat's a good set of images for this week. I like them all.
Thank you Keith.Great set Bill, your chosen shot is one of the best for me
Thanks Nick, I always like to try shots from different angles. That low angle works really well.
Thanks Alan. That’s a really great set, hard pressed to choose
Thank you Simon. All good pictures, you've captured the theme well.
