Daredevil photograper.

That's an old one, it only looks risky from that angle... I'm sure someone will be along with a link in a mo...

Also look at the shots the last one with the red circle clearly shows he would not have fallen far.

I say good effort. I get tired of people clinging to safety and going to such lengths to avoid any risk. True, you shouldn't do stuff like that in flip flops, or after drinking, but then it's his choice. I'd rather to that than smoke a cigarette any day...

But that's what I don't understand, and why I used my smoking example. Now, I don't know whether you smoke or not, but I know people who smoke 10 to 20 a day, but still won't climb anything that's high, even if it's safe. But then human fears (mine included) are rarely rational, and are often more to do with what we've grown up being used to rather than what's actually more dangerous. I'd rather fall to my death than die of lung cancer.

I agree, fears are hardly ever rational, I don't smoke, rarely drink and DON'T go up high things :D No reason for it... just don't like it.

However, to make things even more irrational, I can climb up rock faces, and abseil back down them... however I won't abseil off anything... something to do with the leaning over the edge I guess... either that, or I need some therapy :cuckoo:

Rather him than me, looks like he had flip flops on too

You shouldn't be scared of heights ~ they will not kill you. You should be afraid of the ground, that's what would kill you if you fell.

Nah, gravity is the real killer :D

Love the sensationalised headline too 'Man jumps over grand canyon', was expecting to see someone literally leaping the thing LOL

Also look at the shots the last one with the red circle clearly shows he would not have fallen far.

Yeah, lol only half a mile! :D

I can imagine you can get some cracking shots from that position. So whoever's next of to the grand canyon have a go!!!

Been there done that. Well sort of. There are lots of places like that along the edge and they all fill up with people for pictures of the sunset. Some do have sheer drops but most have another wide ledge just a couple of feet below.

"an empty six pack" may account for his bravery.
