IMVHO that is.
I had one of the early D7000's and can'r remember any issues with the Build Quality or the Finish.
I took delivery on Friday of new current model and was very dissapointed with it, it felt and looked 'cheap' compared to the early ones.
The battery door being a flimsy abomination with a visible blemish in the plastic and the door projected by about 1mm above the camera body with a battery fitted.
Needless to say it goes back on Monday.
C'mon Nikon get your act together, I have Panny's with excellent BQ & F costing far less than the D7000.
It was not only the body that was Naff, the 16-85mm that came with was no better as regards finish, that's going back with the body.
I'm not a Nikon basher, I've had Nikons from way back, F2, F2A, F3HP, FE, FM and Nikkormats, when quality stood for something.
When I say finish, I mean the general look/feel of a camera.
Is it tactile, do you want to pick it up handle it.
I did once with Nikons but not any more....
