Hello and hope someone can give me a clue...
I've been using CS5 and a Samsung lap top for ages but things seem to have gone wrong recently.
What I usually do is load up my raw files and batch process with some standard settings and then go through each image and correct as required. I used to be able to work on 30, 40 or gosh knows how many images at a time without issue but suddenly my pc started rebooting when working on as few as 6 raws and then 4 and now 1!
What happens is that I can import the pictures and batch process them but when I select the save option things seem to get very slow and then.... reboot!
The task manager shows something like 56% memory used and depending on what's going on anything up to 100% cpu. I thought I might be running out of RAM but now I don't think so. I thought that the spike up to 100% cpu activity may be the problem so I left CS5 alone and instead tried processing a lot of images in Rawshooter Essentials - no problem. I also opened up lots of windows and jobs to get the cpu good and active and even when pretty much glued to 100% cpu use it didn't reboot.
My problems seem to be restricted to processing raw files in CS5 and it's a new problem. I've tried to pin it down to Sony A7, Panasonic or Canon raw files and it makes no difference and whatever I try to process causes my pc to reboot.
I've thought about removing CS5 and reinstalling it but I'm a bit nervous in case I hit problems so I only want to do that as a last resort.
Can anyone give me a clue what might be wrong with my pc?
If so... thanks in advance.
