On a development of 6 houses (all unsold for the past year!!) I am puzzled as to why the block paving entrances to the front doors are ramped in such a way, why not a simple slope up to the front doors without the slopes to the sides.
If I were to make a guess I would think the ramps have something to do with wheelchair access, if that were the reason why then not a simple slope up to the front doors without the dangerous slopes to the sides.
Could it be they have the damp proof course too low on the side walls to accommodate a simple ramp front to back.
As they are I think they look ridiculous and will be extremely dangerous in the winter.

Looks more like a burial mound. Maybe some excavation is needed

You could be forgiven for thinking it it was upward ground movement, ground heave I think it is called, the opposite to subsidence!!.

In terms of wheelchair access that's probably safer than a ramp, there's no edges for the wheel to go over but what a chair needs is room to maneuver and there's not a lot of that there.

If this was really meant to be for wheelchair access a block paving ramp wider than the door, wide enough to manoeuvre, and with a raised edge to prevent the wheels going over would be a better access than what is there now. That would leave room for a few plant pots either side.

thet does look strange, It wouldn.t encourage me to buy the house, can you imagine coming home from the pub after a few drinks?
