I just took a COVID test. I didn't need to, I'm not ill, I just thought I'd try one out since they were free and it's better to know how to use it while I'm not ill.
The test? Piece of cake. Takes about twenty minutes including result-waiting-time and you only have to swap a little bit into the nose, so not like the PCR test I took a few months ago which was mightily uncomfortable
The result? Easy to understand and intelligible.
The reporting? What a palaver. Go to the website, enter the code -- twice -- enter your name, address, email, ethnic origin, phone number...blood group, when you last had sex, how many dogs you own, when you last had a s**t. I gave up halfway through, it was just too much trouble. I know they are after the statistics but it takes a very conscientious person to give away ones entire lifestyle for the sake of a mark on someone's chart. I would have thought that simply the serial number and whether it was positive or negative should be enough to start with and give useful information, everything else should be optional.
I'll continue to take the tests as and when I think it prudent. Will I report the result? Probably not.
