I've been keeping an eye on this lens as I acquire more Amazon vouchers with the hope of buying the Canon 17-55 f/2.8 lens once it reaches my affordability. It's been around £500 for most of the year but has suddenly shot up to £600 for the last couple of months and I've no idea why.

Frustrating as I have about £300 in amazon vouchers and (with the Canon cashback for £50) means I'd be able to buy it for £150 brand new.
Any ideas? Just supply and demand? Or manufacturing issues?
