Corky's 52 - WEEK 25 / FREEDOM & RESHOOT

How did I miss your last 3!! Apologies!

3rd crowd shot is my favorite - the toned down colours work much better and its at least a crowd rather than my sparse set of folk :) Nice one!

Wealth: :) agree with most comments : nicely lit and set up and works well - love that piggy bank :)

Identity: Yep sums it up the way the world is going - well set up - love the 'likkle finger' brilliant and subtle touch that :) :)

Thanks Dark Star!!

Wealth - great image - definitely like the 10€ "falling" from the top

Identity - love it, I was thinking of doing something very similar to this myself, I don't think I would have done quite as good a job as you have though  The inclusion of the inky hand is a great touch.

Great take on the theme, the finger prints makes this pic IMO, with out them its just a pic of a passport with them, it strikes home the issues around identity and proving it that are around at the moment :)

Yes another good one from you Sir...

Love the inky finger... gives it a real touch of realism

I think your right about the identity thing...it's all going to bite us on the bum one day...:p

Very well done  love the fingerprint sheet, it works really well.

Thanks everybody  Anybody got any words of wisdom for this week??

jon

I really like this interpretation of the theme and the work you've put into it. And the likkle finger made me laugh  :clap:

And you're right about the more items of identity we have the more we seem to need. Here in Spain you can't use your credit card without a passport or residencia card, even though they have chip and pin ......, and sometimes you even have to sign as well

Really, really strugled with this weeks theme, and then, when down the local
realised wisdom was in abundance.....especially after 11pm. took about 60 shots and drank at least 30 cans before i was happy with the shot.....then I fell down !! ;) ;)

Crowd - love the 2nd attempt at desaturation and selective colouring. It works really well. Great interpretation.

Wealth - Nice shot. Great idea. Lovely colour and detail. Like the composition.

Identity - Another good idea. Lovely clean, crisp shot well executed.

Wisdom - You know I had a flash of an idea along similar lines. Like the interpretation. Very creative out of the box (can) thinking

The wisdom to be found in pubs  mostly based on the best source experience, great idea and given the state you must have been in that is one sharp photo :D. I'm not sure the white balance is quite right as the white head appears orange . I also note there are 2 quite strong shadows of the glass and can that once I noticed them I can't take my eyes off them. I like the position of the glass versus the position of the can and I think the can being crushed works well too

As a side thought I wonder what an image from a slightly lower perspective would look like

Agree about the shadows simon, not sure about the WB though. On my monitor it looks fine, Stout has a dirty cream head. May'be my monitor is out though.

Pub wisdom a very dangerous thing. hope your not too hung over ;)

I like the composition you have set out but agree with Simon about the WB.

I like the image, it's well taken. I too think the crushed can works well. Did you get in trouble for setting up the tripod in the pub ? After that many, it's the only way you'd have kept the camera still :D.

Ah, pub wisdom  As a barmaid in a former life, ie I was sober at the end of the night :D it was often more Norman wisdom than anything else :lol:

But as an interpretation of the theme it works for me. I don't find the shadows distracting but it does look a little more like a pale peachy head on my screen too.

Such dedicated suffering for your art.:lol:

I love the shot - just works on all levels for me.:clap:

Thanks for the comments everybody. I'll have to get the monitor calibrated !
J

Ah now that's real Wisdom...why didn't I think of that...:bonk:

I like the whole set up of this shot and the shadow looks fine for me...

WB looks ok to me...but I think I'm due for a re calibrated monitor...

I love the way we photographers suffer for are art...

Once again, you've made me smile!! Very nice idea and I'm proud of you for 'suffering' so much for your art!

Thanks again.....new edit added

Jon

Looks good - and my kind of wisdom too :) Now this is a different interpretation - not so much out of the box - more out of the can :D

Very good shot! I like it a lot and the colour/tones look very good to me :)!

This was taken of my Nieghbour and her horse (beauty) as she was getting saddled up. Its very obvious the relationship they have together

Good capture Jon, clearly they have a close relationship.

That's a lovely shot of a great and trusting relationship...

pity about tip of the ear missing but it's still a good one from you this week...

Heres my idea of poverty ....being homeless!

poverty2.jpg

I like the idea behind this Corky, although a caravan is still a home ;)

The shabby appearance of the caravan alongside the bottled water indicating no running water, all add to the feeling of poverty.

The shot itself is nice an clear and the b&w treatment is good too!

well done

Like the B&W treatment on this image and the bright back lighting in the clouds really works.

Certainly doesn't indicate wealth unless of course the owner has both caravans ;)

Keeps a tidy garden though! ;)

Not quite homeless, but definatley not wealthy living either, the grime down the side of the caravan makes the shot for me.

Hi as said not really a homeless shot, but its not somewhere most people would choose to live...:nono:

I do agree that the B&W treatment works really well for this subject...

so yes its a winner for me...

sat it all for me, well done

Its a bleak looking image but in a good way, fits the theme well.

Thanks for the positive response
