Firstly, thanks to George for the haggis! We've been discussing it via PM for quite a while now, and I've really been looking forward to it. Will be cooking it for tomorrow's lunch hopefully
I'd also like to thank every single person who helped in the convention. I feel ashamed I didn't do more to help to be honest.
Therefore I'd firstly like to thank Yv for organising the whole thing! She's done really well sorting this weekend out, it couldn't have been easy.
So thanks Yv, it's really appreciated.
Also, thanks to all the manufacturers and vendors who came along (Im still drooling over that £800 Manfrotto tripod
)
Also, I'd like to offer thanks to everyone else who gave their time and more to help out, including Marc, Carol, and also Lee from TogsPrint. Sorry I haven't named everyone who got stuck in, but not only am I terrible with names (and public speeches
), I think everyone did something to make the convention happen.
Also, thanks to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle too! (I promise me winning one wasn't a fix!!!!)
I would have liked to have come for both days (and in hindsight should have!....damn that curry and beer sounded nice!), but family commitments meant I couldn't. That said, I had a thoroughly brilliant time, and it was really good to meet every single one of you. I'm gutted I didn't spend any time on the TogsPrint studio setup, and plum forgot to bring a shot to be printed on the Epson stand.
Sorry my impromptu 'thanks' at the end was quite short
I can write a post off the top of my head, but put me infront of a room of people and that's it....nada!.
What I *meant* to say at the end of the convention was...
Finally, thanks to every one of you for being a member on the forums, and being a part of what I am proud to call my internet home. Gestures such as the cufflinks, the getting together of everybody at the convention (and meets), the huge generosity I've seen from everyone, not just via the convention but via the forum itself. It all cements my view that we really do have a great community of members here.
Anyone who may be a little cynical and jaded by some of the recent negative behaviour by others on the forum just need to take a look at the convention and what was achieved, and what happens on the forum each day....and they'll soon realise that any bad posts they've seen are easily dwarfed by huge amounts of friendliness, helpfulness and generosity.
All meted out by a forum full of good, kind people.
Thats all down to you lot. A forum is nothing without it's members, I've always said it, and I think I can speak for the other two admins too when I offer my thanks for making this forum what it is, a forum I'm proud to come to every day.
I think I've rabbited on enough, this is beginning to sound like an oscars speech!
....b****r off now so I can go to bed
