COD: Black Ops

i am proud to admit i completey screwed game today...

buy COD black ops £44.99 or £24.99 if bought with another game

so i did........ with a second copy of the same game.........(for a friend)

we then traded it in at £49.99 :shrug:

work that one out

someone somewhere got the pricing a bit oopsadaisy
 
ok after another hour of gameplay all I can say is.....


....awsome.

It's actually amazing
 
Not a happy bunny, I am away with work all week, so I am having to wait until Friday night to play.:'(

luckily it is nothing like their last attempt, and also better than the mw2 screw up, unfortunately a few mw2 hangups have stayed, like care packages and instead of a predator missile there is a stupid remote car.

buying stuff is cool, it means you can select what you want rather than earning 5 weapons and attachments you'll never use, waiting for that 6th one you want

yup agreed, now I'm getting the hang of it it does make good sense. Still don't like the perk positions though :cuckoo:

do you think levelling is pretty easy? I mean...a guy on treyarc DOM#96 last night was lvl42 already, hell I'm lvl 20 and I've played it for just 3 hours, prestige is @ lvl 50 so umm..:shrug: if its like MW2 prestige and it resets everything then within maybe 2 weeks if that I'll be @ lvl 50 and if I choose to prestige it'll all be reset. MW2 it took me about month and half! most of that is about lvl 45 to 70

it's exponential though i think, so very easy to climb early but the last few levels will be harder etc.

I seriously HATE the no footsteps though. It's driving me insane, just played a game where I was killed so many times just running out into someone - on previous cod i would have heard them, it's like everyone has ninja turned on now. They have to change this.

true but MW2 it took me about what...3 or 4 days to get level 20? I've done it in 3 hours with BO. It would just be a shame to see every man and his dog at 15th level prestige (15 this time around) in a months time :shake:

I don't really think the prestige thing means anything anymore though. Just because you have gold 55 doesn't mean you are good, it just means you have played it for a long time. The stats mean a lot more than the level you are on.

I rarely even look at what level people in the game are on anymore

Only got the game last night and had 1/2 hour on it. Does this mean that i can just walk or run around normally and no-one can hear me coming? I can hear my own footsteps though. :shrug:

pretty much. You can hear yourself but others can barely hear you, but you can barely hear them too. sucks
 
Played through about 4 hours of the game part last night, I liked it, it is different from modern warfare but nothing terrible. Quite liking the cross bow with explosive tipped arrows.
I will complete the game then move online :D
 
Not bad, different to MW2, haven't done much in the way of the campaign but level 24 online already :(

I don't like the fact you can buy pretty much everything with COD Cash which is easy enough to do with the contracts but a good giggle :D

i finished the campaign mode last night, It was shorter than i expected but i dont really buy the Call of Duty games for the story. Its all about the multiplayer mode for me, and i think it is excellent.
 
Today deciding whether to trade in my MOH that I completed in just one day :suspect: Maybe I really am a gaming god after all :lol: or do I just keep MOH and trade in some older titles :shrug: reply very soon as I'm like a race horse at the off :D

MOH SP campaign is only a 4 hour affair, its the times teir 1 ops which add more hours of game play.

Currentlt running through BO on veteran before trying MP, so many bugs and glitches in the PS3 version! Treyarch should be renamed to Tryharder. WaW was never this bad after release!

WAW was such a poor game though I don't think anyone played it to find any glitches :lol:

WaW SP was a lot better than COD4 - it's a huge challenge in Veteran.
MW, MW2 and BO are have all got easy, Veteran on them isn't as hard as Hardened on WaW. Story was great (like the tie in between WaW and Bo)

i have no idea what you are talking about, I never played WaW in single player, or MW2. :lol:

I completed the SP in COD4 once when I had no internet for 2 days but for me i buy cod games for online and online is all i play. Any comments from me are only directed at multiplayer, not SP
 
I've been having trouble getting into the multiplayer games. It keeps coming up with "unable to access black ops server" (or something like that), but then an hour later let's me in? :shrug:
I can sign in to playstation network fine (I can see all my mates online which makes it even worse! :bang:)

Anyone else had problems getting on to the multiplayer games?

I read this and was gonna say yea me too..but for a different reason - kinda getting bored :( I played last night for about an hour and was like meh cba any more :thumbsdown: I had to drag myself away from MW2 at 2am every night lol

but anyway, naa no problems, what game type do you play? I mostly play domination and not had any issues, however there are only a handful of servers
 
im pretty ****ed off with it , online is the same as waw total garbage hate it , you have to shoot 1 million bullets to kill some one sigh

although i do love training that is a good bit of fun

as for single player arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

stuck on vetran at the moment im in the service tunnels under the space rocket and for love of god there is millions of these bloody guys that just spawn and spawn . over then this im enjoying singleplayer

i have completed cod moderwarefare on both 1 +2 on veteran so i dont totally suck lol

i sat on both cod modernwarefare's for hours and this game other then lsited jsut sucks it is the 1st one i have found in the series of cod that i can bring myself to play it which is a shame

the only thing stopping me fully enjoying the multiplayer is the lack of footsteps, but David Vahn has said on hie twitter there is a sound level bug and they are looking into it -thank god.

When they bring back the footsteps I'll be able to properly enjoy the game the way it is intended to be played!

I just won't connect to the server. This is before it comes up with the options for which game type. Doing my head in now!:bang:
I normally play Team Deathmatch or Sabotage - when I can get on.

The online side of thigns is a real pita but can't see it being to long before there's a patch to fix that (hopefully)...
 
Well the wife dropped a copy on my lap on release day, played online for a few hours, not too bad I guess- I hate those little rc ieds-
XBOX live, ScottyGS- if you add me mention TP, I get fed up with random adds

Find MP is just full of idiots who just swear and slag people off. Would rather have the story and to get into the game more than be sworn at by a kid.

I was stuck there for an hour solid. Lot easier than COD:MW on the timed section in tunnels on veteran.

You should be fine

Just have 6 trophies to do now.

Date night, in the money, the collector, hidden trophy, hands of the merchandise and sacrificial lamb. Hate zombies from WaW and MP so who knows when I'll manage them

Not really, gameplay is not restricted to sp mode, any comments about gameplay from me are directed at mp mode, I don't claim to know anything or comment about sp mode so what I am saying is not bs, it's directed at mp, see the difference?

MP game play is 95% down to the people playing. nothing really to do with the actual game. from what little I did do MP they are all pretty much the same. mainly down to the same people online on each game.

as for muting players. all well and good but dont want to mess about in games, doing it at the end is all well and good too but to much messing around and there is always more kids in each game doing it. gets pointless after awhile. just glad I ditched the 360 for a PS3 there is less foul mouthed kids and them annoying ones who play music or whatever down mic.

yeah i think half of it is because i have been very tired and always loose when tired lol good night sleep tonight then off to destroy it tommrrow when i get up all fresh and relaxed

we're talking about different types of gameplay, you are talking about how the story develops, the types of tasks you have to do, how the bots react to different parts, where the story takes you.

I'm talking about the perks you get, the guns you select, the kill streaks, the map designs, the playlists of the game types, how the bullets react, the way the controls feel .... i could go on, all of this is gameplay, none of this is affected by who else is in the game and how they play, thats a whole different discussion altogether.

As for the muting, it takes half a second to do and only about 10% of the people even use mics, last night i played 10 games in a row not a single mic. The other thing I do often is just plug my headset in and change the audio so that it comes out of my surround sound and then just peoples voices go through the headset. The headset stays over by my console and I don't hear any voices .... ever.
