weekly Cobra's 2020 cataclysmic catastrophes Week 52 decorate and done!

Well seen and exposed. I think there might be a number of depressing photos this week...

I think you could be right.

I found it at the bottom of my garden. Those damned Gnomes and their parties...
They just can't be trusted!
I hesitate to say good find but well spotted, why oh why with all the drop in centers and sharps disposal places about you have to put up with tankers like this is beyond me.
Maybe its because they have no gnomes to go to?

Definitely a compelling image and well taken too.
Shame it's at the bottom of your garden Chris!

My missus didn't used to let me drink Red Bull in the house either!

Seriously though, it fits the theme perfectly, and is certainly thought provoking.
Nicely done Chris!(y)

Cheers Garth :)

 at the spoiler

Another nice sharp one :D

Sugar Free Red bull though - healthy option?

Those gnome I suppose they think the garden fairy will come and tidy it up.
right on theme.

Disturbing to see but definitely a sign of the times. A serious take on the theme.

Serious? I know I'm slipping.. I need to give myself a good slap :D
Thanks for stopping by Helen
I like the lighting and processing and it certainly is on theme.
Cheers Pete, I'm glad you like it.

Great for the theme and I have learned something, you can mainline Red Bull!
I think I'm gonna need a bigger syringe :D

Thanks for dropping by Clive (y)

Many comments have been made and I can only add, they both can get you high. :giggle:
Thanks for dropping by Stan :)

Great story telling and great lighting. But sugar free Red Bull defies the purpose!

I like the 'discarded' shot. Funnily enough, it was what I had in mind for mine. Now that we've moved offices to Camden (from Knightsbridge) it's been a bit of a culture shock.

However, as you got in there first, I looked for something else.

Nicely composed shot but depressing and dangerous find in a garden.

Nicely spotted Chris a great fit for the theme and sadly a sign of the times.

Can’t believe the gnomes left a ml of “golden brown” in the syringe ;-) maybe the coffee was too strong for them

I've had a word with the Gnomes and they promised not to do it again Phil (y)

Indeed it is Mark :(
This is truly discarded and pretty awful really.
Its OK Dom. The dog end went in the ash pot, the can went in to recycling and the syringe got washed out and put back in my box of props :)

They just couldn't handle "Americano" Heather :(

Thanks for dropping by Gals and Guys. (y)

And if there was any doubt left it was a total "set up".

Week 5 snappers choice + Silhouette

This was not my idea for this week, however the weather beat me yet again :(
My latest Bonsai acquisition, a Japanese elm, taken against ugly skies as the weather closed in.
I think it counts for the techy thingy ...

Really do love this Chris, same weather here too. It looks so moody and mystical looking and quite ghostly a great shot too.
Cheers Dave I appreciate the kind comments :)

I will give you a  for the technique
also a  for the dark moody image

BUT (n) because there are no leaves on it

That would make a good film poster! Very nice dark silhouette!

A little bit of string hanging down in the shape of a noose would give this a real sinister look.
I really like it, dark and moody and even though you say the weather wasn't what you wanted, I think that the weather you did have has produced something that you may not have envisioned.

Thank you and thank you Paul (y)
However its a deciduous tree and guess what , its still winter :D
There are however, tiny buds starting to appear (y)

Very moody Chris and (y) getting the sillywet in those conditions.
It's not dared to rain here - I've got washing on the line!
Cheers Tim, and its still bloody raining here :(

"The day of the Elms" perhaps ? :D
Thanks for the kind comments :)

 now why didn't I think of that? :D

Thanks for the kind words Dom and actually I think you may well have a point (y)

Just goes to show what I know about Bonsai trees, I thought they all had leaves on them, thanks for putting me straight :)

:)

The ones you tend to see as "examples" are pines / conifers.
And although they also sleep, they retain their spines through the winter.

There are also a few "evergreens" that are used such as Cotoneasters
Pyracantha's and more.
