A dashcam video, on the A9 about 25 miles North of Inverness. His trousers were probably needing washed anyway!

Squeeky bum moment indeed!
Truck driver should be stripped of his license for that manouvere.

This is a bad junction at the best of times, but the lorry driver not stopping is an absolute disgrace and I hope the cops get him.

It's not uncommon to see trucks waiting quite a time to get out at that junction given the traffic heading North and South on the A9. On the video from about the 20 second mark you can see the lorry heading for the junction so no reason why he couldn't see the car (actually multiple vehicles) approaching.

Jesus H.....I just sh@t myself and I only watched the video! Hope we get an update on whether plod caught up with the lorry driver.

Name and shame - Owner, G A Mackenzie, Kinbrace. It's not the first time that truck has caused accidents/near misses. The driver should be kicked off the roads.

The culprit...yes it's the one from the video.

I got the link from the BBC News website and from the comments STV News want to run it on tv tonight, I reckon there's a good chance they'll know who the driver is soon as it's a fairly local company. Proving it to the satisfaction of a court might be difficult though.

Pretty poor quality video. Cheap dash cams may "do the job", but you need to invest in a good one to pick up number plates. The driver will get found out easily enough, just a case of finding out who was working that shift with that particular truck.

Local police put this on FB "
Police have been made aware of video footage of a lorry on the A9 at the Tomich junction, by Invergordon.

The footage is currently being reviewed and police would appeal for anyone who was in the area at time and has any information to contact them on 101."

These lorries are a pain in the butt on all roads not just this company... but not all of them just allot of them

That is true, but this is different...we have a video to moan and groan about :D

It's possible that the uploader has a better quality copy, youtube is a pain for compressing and messing up videos. You're right about cheap dash cams though, I've been through the range from poor quality to proper HD and the difference can be startling.

I have to say that these logging lorries down here in the south of scotland are ridiculous at times, had a couple of scares myself with them.

I only see two possibilities here, either it was a total cock up on the lorry drivers part or he was basically a bully and just didn't care.

I have some sympathy with the former, let's face it we've all cocked it up at times, and usually totally regretted it, but sometimes the outcome is life changing. In this case I'd be minded to go a little easier, perhaps further training or some such?

If it was the latter then the driver deserves to lose their license even if it means losing their job, no if's but's or anything else would be appropriate.

Only a court can decide which it is of course, I do hope they manage to identify him (her) and bring them to justice.

Logging Lorries in Scotland....LOL They dont call em LOGGING lorries just because they carry logs.......

Hope the driver gets a dangerous driving conviction ......

I could call that driving several things, but a cockup is not one of them. To charge up to a T junction and charge out is reckless.

BTW - have a look at the video using the option to watch it on You Tube. Couple of interesting items follow the A9 incident.

I grew up with the owner of the lorry . Yes the driving and awareness wasn't the best ,I see this sort of thing every day it's not just log haulers, buses, cars you name it they're all doing it .Don't condone this by any means but it's all too common nowadays .

If the operator couldn't prove who was driving they'd risk losing their operators license.. there's a reason HGVs are fitted with tachos.

It's a two man operation so I don't think he'll have much trouble sussing out who was driving .

The fact that he just carried on without stopping after causing that, will hopefully result in him losing his licence.

Theres easily a section 2 case against the driver of the truck. Thats the problem with that route, dodgy overtakes and dodgy exit from junctions. I cannot see how SPECs cameras stop the later.

Be interesting to know if there was anything else of note on the tachograph.
