A dashcam video, on the A9 about 25 miles North of Inverness. His trousers were probably needing washed anyway!
Pretty poor quality video. Cheap dash cams may "do the job", but you need to invest in a good one to pick up number plates. The driver will get found out easily enough, just a case of finding out who was working that shift with that particular truck.I got the link from the BBC News website and from the comments STV News want to run it on tv tonight, I reckon there's a good chance they'll know who the driver is soon as it's a fairly local company. Proving it to the satisfaction of a court might be difficult though.
Local police put this on FB "
Police have been made aware of video footage of a lorry on the A9 at the Tomich junction, by Invergordon.
The footage is currently being reviewed and police would appeal for anyone who was in the area at time and has any information to contact them on 101."
These lorries are a pain in the butt on all roads not just this company... but not all of them just allot of them
43 year old man reported to fiscal.
I only see two possibilities here, either it was a total cock up on the lorry drivers part or he was basically a bully and just didn't care.
I have some sympathy with the former, let's face it we've all cocked it up at times, and usually totally regretted it, but sometimes the outcome is life changing. In this case I'd be minded to go a little easier, perhaps further training or some such?
If it was the latter then the driver deserves to lose their license even if it means losing their job, no if's but's or anything else would be appropriate.
Only a court can decide which it is of course, I do hope they manage to identify him (her) and bring them to justice.
If the operator couldn't prove who was driving they'd risk losing their operators license.. there's a reason HGVs are fitted with tachos.I got the link from the BBC News website and from the comments STV News want to run it on tv tonight, I reckon there's a good chance they'll know who the driver is soon as it's a fairly local company. This is a bad junction at the best of times, but the lorry driver not stopping is an absolute disgrace and I hope the cops get him.
The fact that he just carried on without stopping after causing that, will hopefully result in him losing his licence.
