Clarkson suspended by the BBC, TG taken off air.

Agree, the BBC have completely lost the plot. They have failed to realise that the show was successful because of the chemistry of three middle aged blokes messing about. Many people watched it because of the general baffonary.
The BBC would have lost the plot if they were to continue with the same format, but different presenters.

I'm quite wierded out, le blanc, who is he?

If you'd clicked on the link, which you clearly did as the name's not mentioned in the thread, it tells you exactly who he is.
So I'm "wierded out" by the question really.

"Interesting" choice......

I read something last week where James May reckons the alleged mishaps (Evans crashing a car on the TG test track and him throwing up when being driven around a track by Sabine) are a clever attempt to under-sell the new series so expectations are low.

Either way, when our Clarkson, May & Hammond end up on Netflix it could just be one nail too many in the coffin for the Top Gear franchise.

They won't end up on Netflix. They signed with Amazon

As long as he doesn't say "Hey how ya doin' " every time he gets in a car :D

Strange choice I must admit.

Get it right fella...

How you doin'? ;)

I liked the Joey character, and his urine take of himself in Episodes, I just don't see him fitting in in this 'role'. :-)

I strongly suspect Chris Evans knows exactly what he's doing.
I'm sure he does.
It just seems an odd choice.
But as you also said, we shall see.

One way or another it'll be entertaining to witness.

TBH, I'd rather see the new team than watch rehashes of the same old tired jokes from the old one.

Stopped watching TG years ago and can't stand Evans so I won't be watching anyway.

Although if Sabine is in it............:love::love::love::love:

Matt Le Blanc is a household name in the US and other potential markets around the world, whereas the ginger bloke isn't.

For acting (rather poorly) in a popular series....not for presenting.
It's got tits up written all over it.

Unusually for a yank he does have an ability to laugh at himself though.

I'll wait and see what happens

Didn't he get around the TG track pretty quickly as well?

He's available and a petrolhead.

That just makes him available and a petrol head.

Chris Evans is a household name in the UK,

Nowhere else matters anyway! to be fair, they will get what they are given. Or a punch in the face will result:eek: Hang on....

Makes him a good presenter how? :D
Michael Atherton was a good cricketer...but as exciting as Valium as a presenter / commentator.

True, but he was an entertaining guest. One of the better ones I thought. I realise that doesn't make him the ideal presenter, but it does mean I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now

He can also string a few words together and learn a script. I'm told he's not unpleasing to those who find men attractive too - not really an accusation that can be levelled against the previous 3!

Or ANY previous TG presenter....but that's not what TG has ever been about.

Hugh @boyfalldown is right though....MLB's self deprecating humour might definitely be worth a watch.

I think he'll be ok.

I'm not overly bothered by what the BBC do with Top Gear.

More interested with James, Jeremy and Richard

He'll be stuck in second gear.
