Love the lighting and the detail. Personally I'd have liked a touch more space in front of the whiskers at the RHS, but that's probably just me being weird.
I've seen a pike caught on something similar but much more basic - a cat toy tied to a hook! Certainly an unusual object, well shot.

20220420-P4200009 by Chevin, on FlickrThanks SimonLovely shots Duncan. I like the bark ones and the lesser Celandine is well captured too.
Thanks BillNice shots Duncan, you chose the right one to post in the main thread.
Thanks PeteNice work Duncan. The first is the best one for me too.
A nice set. My choice leans to the celandine.. it pops out at you.
I would have gone celandine too Duncan. Light is perfect on this one.
20220424-Planting 2022-3 by Chevin, on FlickrNicely done - a good take on the theme.
I like how you have included the large tree on the left, good shot!
Lots of new trees. Meets the theme well.
That is good to see and different from all the other shots I've seen. The other trees give it scale and you've chosen a lovely day to take the image.
Good thinking certainly fits the theme. They do seem to have been planted very close together but I guess they know what they are doing.
Tends to be a "survival of the fittest" situation - plant lots and let nature sort them out! Some will fail, some will get munched and a few will make it. In the meantime, the roots will help stabilise the ground.
Technology - A really interesting back story and a miniature marvel of engineering. There was some very clever people about years ago who didn't have the advances we sometimes take for granted today.
Discarded - Looks like the ground is encompassing the tyres, it's a sad reflection on today's society that you don't need to struggle to find all manner of discarded rubbish.
Flora - Really nice flowers accentuated by the lighting.
Unusual - There is no doubt that meets the theme, there is always something new to learn about on here.
Snappers Choice - The Lesser Celandine jumps right out to me and is my favourite of your set.
Trees - I'm assuming the planted trees have a narrow footprint, they appear very close together. Good to see the established and younger trees captured in the same photo.
No I hadn't spotted it, but I have nowThank you for the kind comments. Did you spotted the soaring Buzzard in the shot, blasted thing wouldn't come any closer, it was just stooging around enjoying the day.
A good take on the theme Duncan and good image. I didn't see the buzzard either.
Another one that didn't see the buzzard... I can see lots of trees though![]()
It sure doesLooks like it might make a lot of noise....
Nice shot.
Thanks Bill, it's a gorgeous looking and sounding motorcycle.Nice closeup. It give the impression of power without having the whole vehicle in the frame. You could almost use this in the current theme,

Thanks Simon ... it was quite a strange sky at twilight and I just thought that an under exposed image might workI'm with you on your chosen image Duncan. The trees in silhouette work well for a subtle sunset image.
Thanks for the comment BillThis is nice Duncan, I think that you made the right choice.
Thanks BeeEither image fits the bill. I'd struggle to choose
Thanks again Bee ... much more exotic than a Duc ... it's a MV 750 4S developed into a Daytona race bike from 1970. Would be in my dream garage but @ £80k I'll currently have to passThat is an exotic hole - Ducati? I like the contrast in the red and teal background. Liking the shiny metal too
Could always go for one of the modern MVs - but watch out for it boiling its rear brake fluid (among other nice little design touches!) Still half fancy a Brutale but can't help feeling that it would kill me in a week!

Well it a game
Nice Black and White-o-chrome![]()
Liking the plan view, and well captured. I'm curious as to whether you spent ages on the composition or if you just played and that's how it turned out ?The extra loose pieces add to it.
