Fab job Carol! I have a couple of a 6 month old boy and it's not the easiest but I really enjoyed it! I love shooting babies when they can't move fast or far![]()

Being prepared for an audience the next time makes it easier as you can think of ways of handling it.![]()
I know nothing about portrait shots but knowing children at that age, well done on getting him in focus at all! Just watch out for the shadows behind him.
Carol I think you have do a great job , love number one but Monkey does it for me x

That robin is a good one, thought he looks a little fed up of the cost weather![]()

Lovely tatty little robin, very sweet.
As for the wedding, I'd only say one bit of advice. "Just say No!!"I was pushed into doing one last year as a favour & I'd never ever do it again. Shots were fine, but the feeling before hand that I could ruin their day by not getting the shots at an unrepeatable event made me feel sick. I was only agreeing to doing some formal portraits after the service as well, free, as it was someone who works at hubby's place. But the week before, the bride was assuming I would be there from Breakfast to last dance as well. Had to say no to that one, she was a bit of a bridezilla.

Carol, I think you are very sensible, at least if they get a pro in for the standard groups and set shots, you could then go and take some candids away from that action. They get a set of pro shots and from you a story of he day and no pressure.
If only that were true OMG don't go there with the wedding
The robin does look a little chilled. Congrats on getting him at last![]()

Aw, poor little Robin Redbreast - great job, there, Carol!![]()
old blue eyes himself?? .. didn't know he was ginger.. epic!
and.. loving those shoes...they'll go with my new hat
here it is Kev![]()
I thought id posted one about your robin.. No worries.......ahem... Great shot of a robin ..well done.
Thank You
but I think you will get the idea from the photographs. Not the best but not bad for a first try and maybe should have used a cd cover that wasnt so marked - forgot the camera would pick every little detail up

There are so many things I like about that one......the reflection across all, the kind of 'suspension in space and time' feel to it, the differing sizes and strange abstract look to the drops.
Carol, both are great BUT, for me....number one....wow!There are so many things I like about that one......the reflection across all, the kind of 'suspension in space and time' feel to it, the differing sizes and strange abstract look to the drops.
Works for me, if you couldn't tell!
2 is great and interesting, but not my winner. Others may disagree.![]()
)That's a good idea. I did do my friend's wedding but I bought a second flash, a better lens, went on a course, borrowed a camera as backup, borrowed a longer prime and a wide angle, did practice sessions with friends, went to the venue to look around and take test shots, went to the rehearsal to see the church and talk to the minister - it was a lot of work! A detailed shot list, a friend along on the day for moral support and back up, a long day and a lot of pressure. Friends still expect you to stop and chat but you can't relax and be a guest. Thanks SarahI have to admit it is a bit nerve wracking for me..... have told them all that they have to get a Pro in. I dont mind doing a few shots of them but am not going to say yes to a big day and not know exactly what I am doing. I keep telling them that I am merely a beginner in the photography department - regardless of the fact that I have taken photos for years. The camera I always used was fixed lens and automatic so didnt have to do anything. This camera is a whole lot different and a lot more complex than that was and I know it is going to be a long long time before I understand even half of it. I'm just going to stand my ground and tell them they have to have a Pro there and will just take a few special shots of them - end of!
