Daily Carol's 365 from 12th December 2012 - A Year of Happiness

The tree is well composed as far as i can see. Sky is dismal. Well done...I see on your flickr you have a bit of pier pressure...

No I wish though Jeff  Got two wonderful books about Digital Photography as my christmas present and I love them :D - loads of hints and tips and got some serious reading to do now :) Have learnt a lot since being here but these are just to keep reminding me what to do :)

I like the shape of the tree, how most of the branches are on just one side...
Nice sky too.... but, if you think that's grey and dismal, you should try living on Dartmoor lol.

That was the tallest one in the cemetery (yes thats where it was! ) and as I didnt really want to take photos of headstones I needed a high tree to be able to cut them out :D

I love Dartmoor surely not as cold as here? :D

Some great work Carol keep up the hard work and taking the critique on board...

Thanks Vince - I'm absolutely loving it :D I get up every day thinking what I am going to do (which is pretty sad really  ) and half of the time it never turns out right but I keep looking..... or get my coat and gloves on and off I go ---- cheaper than any gym membership is all this walking :)

Thanks Kev :)
Pier Pressure? as with all the boats? decided to put them on there after converting to B&W - they looked much better than the colour versions :D

As to the photo, I think you need to take photo's of it in the other seasons too

Wasn't sure if you meant the boat or the tree Matt but will be visiting both quite often throughout the year :)

One can only help but raise further evedence in this trial by fire :D

She also has things made of plastic that go round and round!!!!

Really, well I think sentencing is not going to be too hard in this case ;)

:razz::razz::razz::razz::razz: you buggers!!!:D:D

This one is definitely innocent lol, it's in the 'what is it thread' and he can't guess and fed up of me saying NOPE to him!:D:D

haha oh well dont give in to him :)

Well it had to be done and I did it........ New Years Eve and time is passing much quicker as you get older .... and so the POTD reflects time and the passing of time. I know it is just a boring clock face but it kept pulling me back to it so had to do it

WISHING YOU ALL A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR. MAY YOU ALL HAVE WHAT YOU WISH FOR AND NEED.

Thank you all for taking the time to come in and comment on my photos. I know I arent any 'David Bayley' but I hope to be even half as good as he is and you are all helping me to get there :D Thank you for being my friends :D

Very appropriate Carol.
Happy New Year!

Thanks Phil - looked all day for something suitable and the clock just kept 'pullig' me back (probably as it is sat right next to my desk lol) so thought why not :)

Happy New Year to you and yours as well :)

as i said just tonight carol... Time was invented by Man as an excuse for him to be late... good subject..relevant... image a bit soft and could have been darkened in the corner..but i like the 'almost' midnight concept.!!

Ah, the dreaded New Years Resolution? And January's such a horrible time to try to quit anything! :)

Enjoying your photos - good luck with the rest of the year! :)

I like!!

I'm almost 2 weeks into quitting :)

Well done Toni :D .... Just keep thinking about the money I would save .... well it would be saved for a short while as I'm sure I'd find something to spend it on

Thanks Sam..... think I'm going to have to stop - have a trip to Chicago planned for this summer to visit friends and need plenty of money for that one :)

and Thank you for the lovely comment about my photos and thank you for the luck .... think I may need it while this weather is horrible :shake:

Yep, I was £150 a month. Now I'm down to £60 a month. I use e-cigarettes instead for now :) will eventually cut down on those too!

I can't think of a better incentive to quit, though! :)

ETA - nice way to see the benefits is to move the amount you would have spent on cigarettes into a separate savings account after each week and watch it build up - a friend of mine did that and it was pretty impressive!

was thinking of using one of them just to cut down a bit .... If I can get down to half as many or even a third then Ill be happy enough :) There are 2 of us smoking so mounts upto double your amount  shocking really :(

Yikes! I use the skycig ones. The day they arrived, I stopped "real" cigarettes full stop. My mum was the same. I'm nearly 2 weeks, my mum is nearly 5 months! I was 20 a day, she was 30 a day.

well I will definitely be trying - just cut down to start with and then slowly but surely get rid of them altogether :) The trip to Chicago is way more important than smoking :)

Don't touch them!!!!!!
One of my pet hates, though as someone who has never touched them I suppose that is easy to say.
Like the lighting and depth of field in your shot.

Will definitely put it elsewhere otherwise it will just get spent and then no trip :( We need to get over to see this friend as he isn't well so can't travel here and none of us are getting any younger :( He has been a friend of Glenns for 40 years now :)

Thanks Phil - bit of editing did the trick with this one :)

Carol love Day 22 .....................The question is do you want to pack up? Your choice not other folks ...............

I have been packed up 7 years now and I did it because I wanted NOT because other wanted me too !!!

Vince, that's very true. I've tried to quit 3 times previously purely because of money and others wanting me to.. at the time, I still really loved smoking. I failed all 3 times within the week! This time, it was money AND I had started to detest it. I'm almost 2 weeks in and have yet to even want to go back to them. 2 weeks isn't long but it's a long time for me!
