Yes
Would anyone happen to know if refurbed cameras from the eBay outlet store qualify for the current Cashback offers?

Thanks :)

Don't know, but here is the enquiry number from the cash back claim form, I'd give them a ring and ask directly; 0800 622 6770

No they don't!

No they don't!

As above, and there is some debate whether they have anything to do with Canon UK, as the warranty is not with Canon direct but the supplier??

Caveat Emptor me thinks...........

That's what I thought but the devil inside considered chancing it and sending the form....

Everything comes with 1 year Canon warranty :) Payment process went through Canon online store.

The Canon Outlet is operated by Digital River, the official and exclusive Canon-branded web reseller. Digital River has officially been appointed by Canon Europa N.V. to set up and run the Canon Outlet on eBay under the Canon brand. Digital River is fully supported and backed up by Canon. Items, store layout, content, warranty services and technical support are provided by Canon. Digital River meets strict service level requirements of Canon. Note: In order to facilitate the financial transactions, Digital River acts as the merchant of record.

I can confirm that the warranty is with canon UK, i bought a camera from them as a present for someone, after about 7 months it developed a fault It was returned to canon uk for its repair, all nice and fast as i was also able to my CPS membership and get it turned around in 3 days. Canon even supply postage labels to send it to them at their cost.

they have a pretty poor reputation....

Can you give examples? :)

eBay Feedback seems reasonable considering the volume of goods being sold. 98.7% positive from over 44,000 sales.

put it this way, i wouldnt buy from a shop where 1 in 50 customers had a serious problem with them!!!

The trouble with feedback is that the general rule of thumb is to leave it when the item arrives as described and promised.

It would be hard to follow up on any feedback 2-3 months down the line once dealing with any after sale services.

Cheers,
James

Fair points :)

For every 50 people we know at least one will be a complete ar5e. That's not dismissing the negative feedback, it's just my experience of people.

No interest in defending the outlet shop, I will take a slurry tanker to their HQ in Ireland if they rip me off ;)

I'm interested in hearing examples of peoples bad experiences. :)

I got a very good deal on a 5D and 85mm f1.2 "kit".

The lens was in an unopened box and I sold it on almost immediately.

The 5D looked fine but the viewfinder was full of dust and fluff. I sent it to H Lehmann (one of Canon's approved repairers) and it came back by return of post with a new viewfinder fitted.

Make of that what you will....

I've bought 2 DSLR's from them in the past, no problems at all, camera's were mint.

can anyone point me in the direction of theyre ebay shop please :)

The scanner arrived today, from the Canon Outlet. Doesn't work.

In what way does it not work?

Does it not power up, or does the software not install, is the light coming on?

Light comes on, scanner is recognised, and instead of getting into action, it just makes a VERY Audible click.

Already in the process of a return.

Ah, so it doesn't work! :bang:

I've not owned a scanner for about 10+ years, but you used to get an awful noise if you tried operating it with the 'transit lock' on. Just a thought. :D

I'm waiting for my 40D from them, I'll let everyone know how it turns out. :D

I have bought twice from them: 100mm macro and 400D, both worked fine.

I bought my 1DSmk3 from them and have had no problems whatsoever, very quick dispatch, perfect condition.
