Any opinions please? Anyone got one?
Was in Jessops today and I said I was toying with idea of S95 and/or used DSLR, and the guy pointed me to the 210. Thanks.

The S95 is probably a better more sophisticated camera, judging by price and by the fact that it is very highly regarded. Also it has manual controls and can shoot in RAW, however if you just want point and shoot using scene modes then I'm sure the SX210 will do a very good job.

The SX210IS gives you full manual modes, plus priority modes, and a proper control dial so don't turn your nose up at it too lightly. Doesn't have RAW and nowhere near as good a sensor as the S90/95/G series Canons but does have 14x zoom and is nicely put together. Horses for Courses.

I agree Nuffles I have my SX210IS for a year or so now, no co complaints.

I am however thing about taking the plunge and getting a preowned DSLR, If I can convince my better half!

I tried one a few months ago, ended up getting a TZ10 instead.

While I prefer Canon for SLR's the Panny was better than the Canon compacts (just IMO, of course).

I just can't get on with the Panasonic stuff at all. The menus aren't put together well at all (especially compared to the on-screen menu on Canon compacts) and the lack of a control dial really bugs me. Not a massive fan of Canon's new 16:9 screens but it's something I can overlook for the positives to me.

Menu wise I do agree, I still have a A720iS which has a much better menu structure.

But image wise, the Panasonics are excellent. As my "expendable" compact I still have a TZ7 as well. With the Panasonics, colour and sharpness is something else in comparison to the other compacts I have used..

bought an SX210 IS yesterday from jessops, for those times i don't want to lug all my DSLR gear around, plus to take to concerts to take shots and HD video.Took some test shots last night whilst playing with it,and so far i like it a lot...great little compact for the money

Hi - do you still have this camera and you still like it?
thinking of this camera for my fiancee for her bday tomorrow since she broke her camera last week and even tho i told i will not be getting her a camera *** she never looks after it, i feel bad for her not having a camera.
