Well guys, I could do with a bit of advice if possible please?
My uncle is a keen tog and has recently upgraded his camera. He now has a Canon G10 that he isn't using (and hasn't used much at all in fact) which I may be interested in buying off him.
I have only got a point and shoot, and I am looking to upgrade, but my main issue is whether the G10 is a good enough camera to learn with initially before upgrading to a dslr? What is the image quality like? Am I able to shoot in RAW format?
Any opinions would be most welcome. Thanks!

They are nowhere near as good as a DLSR for action stuff like sports and they are not good for shallow depth of field portraits though.
