Tomorrow is not today![]()
Nah, we have a month or so of every spec being analysed and then slagged off. Not until the camera comes out and people have real hand experience taking photos (not vloggers) will we see anything good written. Its the way of the world.LOL hopefully the Canon EOS R wow's everybody![]()
I don't profess to know how these things work but my brain says that if the tech is out there leading companies should be able to copy it/create their own versions. Obviously we'll have to wait and see what AF performance is like but I don't understand why frame rate and buffer is so low, both Canon and Nikon are capable of making cameras with faster fps and buffers so I'm not sure why this hasn't transferred across to these new bodies. Obviously there's a reason, and it's clearly not as easy as I'm making out, but 5 and 5.5fps is a little disappointing. 8fps without AEL and with AF-C, and min 25 shot buffer and I'd consider it. I'm over the 1 card slot now having realised how I use my backupI think both companies have done well for 1st gen, depends on how soon they release their next gen. If they follow traditional timing it'll be 3-4 years.... that's a lot of time for Sony to develop, especially with their budget and class leading sensor design.
It's great that more manufacturers are making FF milc.
The Canon R is a better effort compared to Nikon but they haven't made me consider switching.![]()

Lack of IBIS isn't great on the Canon, I'm assuming the new lenses have IS?
Another 30 pages on one card slot and it's not even XQD

It's not at all and prefer it to XQD since it's more widely available.UHSII so not that bad.
Sony have been working for years on MILC, you cant just copy someones technology, its not available on Amazon. Canikon need to figure these things out, plus, Canikon are less likely to cannibalise like Sony did (you could say they have less reason to and use their brands where Sony has to push and be better), they will release their pro range in time that will have the faster fps, bigger buffer etc.
What makes you say that? The Canon R is a better effort compared to Nikon but they haven't made me consider switching.![]()
It’s not for sale on amazon? b****rSony have been working for years on MILC, you cant just copy someones technology, its not available on Amazon. To me that’s a better option than xqd until xqd/CFexpress become more mainstream and hopefully cheaper.UHSII so not that bad.

Probably still in shock... first the Nikon Z and now this......Im surprised nobody has preorders up in the UK.
3 what? There are 3 in the classifieds already.......![]()
You could be right but I was considering it as a package, the lenses look good and the 5000 AF points, Dual-Pixel AF, -6EV sound interesting. Not sure about that.
Yes that's included I believe.any mention of C-LOG?
It's not as easy as that. Look at how long it took the US military, with a massive budget, tons of top engineers and boffins, and serious determination, to make as good space rockets as that nasty ex-Nazi Wernher von Braun. And it wasn't that they just weren't building quite as good rockets as he could, they went through a series of very embarrassing disasters, and had to keep calling him and his team back to rescue them. What makes you say that?
It’s not for sale on amazon? b****rI just assumed people could dissect others tech to a large extent and then they’ll have the boffins to fill in the gaps.
