Mine seems to be smooth. At what point does it catch on yours?Does anyone have the R? I've noticed on mine when I flip the screen around it seems to be having a little "catch" or something; It's just not 100 percent smooth it seems, like it is on the RP. Anyone able to do a bit of flipping on the EOS R and confirm its silky smooth with no "catching" at all?
Had a walk around Wigg Island (on the banks of the Mersey) this evening.

Crikey, is that the Runcorn Bridge?! Who'd have guessed it could look so picturesque!I worked in Runcorn for 10 years and I'm shocked that something so visually appealing can come from a WA7 postcode![]()
I just need to get down there when the tide is in so I can get the full reflection.I worked in Runcorn for 10 years and I'm shocked that something so visually appealing can come from a WA7 postcode![]()
Fabulous shot. I used to live in Liverpool and work in Old Hall Street. I can't quite get my bearings in this pic, the skyline is so very different from when I lived there. I really wish I'd taken photos of all the docks before they were developed.
It was taken from Princes Dock, there's a small bridge there that is nice to photograph and you get a great shot of the Liver Building

The other side of the small bridge is the Cruise Terminal.
Good idea, I should have just moved the camera down a bit when I took this shotChallenge for you next time, get a shot of the Liver Building clock through the holes on the side of that bridge!!
I've only lived here 20 years, from the North-East originally, but I wish I'd seen it before the transformation, it's got a great vibe about the place now. In front of the Liver Building on the waterfront kids go down with their skateboards, don't hassle anyone, people just sitting round enjoying the view, nice place to go for a walk.Fabulous shots Paul @Hanley It's all so photogenic these days. It was worth photographing in the old days too, but for different reasons. The transformation has been amazing.
Love the symmetry you've captured in that bridge over the Prince's Dock.
I left in 1993, but first moved there in 1979 when all the docks were in decay. The last time I visited was in 2012 - when I took this shot from our hotel room - possibly at Prince's Dock - almost opposite the Baltic Fleet. The place was absolutely buzzing thenI've only lived here 20 years, from the North-East originally, but I wish I'd seen it before the transformation, it's got a great vibe about the place now. I struggled with the bridge, I think I could get a better shot but it was my first time shooting it so I'll definitely go back.![]()
My R6 comes soon. I traded in my 70-200 for the RF with Park at the end of last week and also added a grip which is eligible for a spare battery on the photo show website and they didn't tell me.... I am hoping they will sort that out for me.

Canon shop. It lists the participating dealers. I guess if they don't sort it for me I send it back and buy it somewhere else. I hope they will though.Which photo show site is that? Cant see on cameralabs or LCE?

I love how small the RF 70-200 is to put in your bag, that's a worthy upgrade for meDid they give an estimate as to how long you’d be waiting for the 70-200?
I’m still going back and forth (after about a month!) as to whether I can bring myself to use my current trade credit towards an RF one (currently have the Mark II)
Just can’t seem to pull the trigger and do it![]()

The pic above was taken on the RF 70-200
I've removed my tripod ring. Find it to be too big.Anyone have a foolproof setup for people eye AF?
To say the least, I'm not having much success with it.
My R5 is set to face + eye AF with people priority.
At least 50% of the time, with a person in from of me, the AF point will pick something random like a coat button or a dark circle on clothing or handbag.
Most people rave about the function so it's my guess I'm missing a setting somewhere.
Do you back button focus and use servo mode?Anyone have a foolproof setup for people eye AF?

Works perfectly on mine.
I use back button focus, AF-ON is set to single point focus, and * button is configured for EYE-AF.
If I bring the camera up and I press the * button but it doesn't find the eye, I'll use the joystick to move the single point onto the subject and then activate EYE_AF again by pressing the star button.
But I can probably count on one hand how many times it's failed to pick up the eye immediately.
If you go into your AF menu 1 do you have:
AF method - AF followed by the face/tracking symbol
Subject to detect - Enable
Eye detection - Enable
I guess it's just me. I'm old and all this ne fangled tech is a bit confusing for. When I had the 85mm 1.2 from Canon on the weekend test drive I found it to be fine, but then again I didn't use for any great length of time.
My 50mm 1.2 works fine all of the time, as do my other RF lenses.
