Hi guys, I bought my nephew a second hand Canon EOS 1000D for Christmas, he's only 10 but has a real interest in photography and the 1000D was specified to have live view, which is quite important so I thought it was a good camera for him (I still do).
I was setting it up just before Christmas and couldn't get the live view to work, a quick Google revealed that this was because live view is only available when the camera is set to manual.
I have a Canon 100D and use live view all the time so I was a bit disappointed in this.
Does anyone have any idea why live view would only be available when the camera is set to manual?
