I am using LPE6 equivalents from seven day shop. Got 4 of them for about £20.00. The LPE6 shipped with my 7d does not hold charge. After just a few months it's well and truly knackered. The seven day shops ones? Can't fault them.
That was a Nikon issue, there have been no reports of this happening with Canon batteries. The early copies didn't have the ability to interact fully with the cameras battery management, but later ones work just fine.Seem to remember reading on here of people struggling with 3rd party batteries on the new bodies with the latest firmware - do a search on batteries and charging (can't link the thread at the moment via phone)
Personally, I think is bite the bullet and buy a Canon one...

Canon 70D batteries
Davemm, looks like a good option too - I'll have to save that link!
I'd go Canon as well... LP-E6 I think on the 70? is around £50 for a genuine one from A mazon - but make sure you get the 'Sold by a mazon' one - not the market place one.. that's very important!!
Thank you all for your input and links, will give it some thought before I buy
Chris what is the difference?

Think Chris is thinking about the fake's out their - hence why suggesting buying from Amazon themselves...
