Thanks for the info Duncan, thats good news.
What does that mean Dave?

Thanks for the info Duncan, thats good news.

I have a question about having two cards in the camera, and although ive looked around the web im not sure ive found the answer.
Im well aware of the SD slot slowing the write speed down if both slots are used for writing, but does anyone know if this is true if im just writing to the CF card, but with a SD card also in the camera?
Im guessing it shouldn't as there isnt any SD card access going on but i cant find confirmation of this.
My plan is to use fast a fast CF card only for day to day shooting (i know i said i wouldn't but the slow buffer flush with SD is annoying me) but keep the SD card in as a precaution in case i forget to take the CF card, and later to run Magic Lantern from it.
Thanks for any help.
Forgive me Dave, I haven't got a 5D Mk3 (yet!!).
Does having to register batteries mean you cannot use third party batteries?

I.E. are the sockets the same?

On a similar note, I have a remote for a 60D, is anyone aware of an adaptor that will allow me to use it on my 5DMkIII?

......THIS is a manual! [/Crocodile Dundeed voice]
Sorry.... I'll remove my filthy Nikon presence now.
Apparently yes, they use the same RS-80N3 remote.

That was going to be my question as well. I've got two wired remotes for my 60D.
I have seen one for the 5D on Amazon for £1.99, considering how little i use them i might go for that. Saying that, using a wireless remote seems to be a bit easier with the 5D, so I might stick with that.

Should get my 5D3 today. After being stuck in customs for a day delaying the delivery.![]()
Do you have a link for that? I've searched but can't find one.
Does anyone here use a Canon 100 f/2 lens. Im very, very tempted to get one as im going through a Prime is best phase at the moment.
Dave, I see you have a 40mm 2.8 pancake... I've been tempted with those, how do you find it? I've got a 50 1.8, wondering if there's any point in getting the pancake too.
Nice present for the weekend!![]()
Yeah, good timing.Got mine from DigitalRev, no complaints at all. Would definitely use them again.
Thinking of 600EX and the RT
Did you get a printed manual with your camera? I also got mine from DR but there was no manual. While I can understand that it was probably in Chinese so they took it out my mate got the same Camera from One stop digital and he got a proper English printed manual.
Not the end of the world.
No printed manual, just link to online one.
You can buy the manuals (inc installation disc) from Canon UK's printers for about £20 if you want the real article.

That's odd. My 5DMkIII from Panamoz came with two manuals, English and Spanish, yet both DR and Panamoz supply from Hong Kong.
I got mine from DigitalRev. Came with the full English manual and the uk charger which I wasn't expecting. Great that it did though.
