Marcel, time for the 50D and Micro Focus?
No, focus adjustment is a band aid, not a fix.
And it doesn't really work with zooms, as very few are par-focal.
QC issues should be fixed at source, not by the end user.
I've had Nikon fix my first 50mm f/1.4 AF-G which could be adjusted by my D700 within specs, but there is a principle at stake.

I would have said from the dandelion picture that it's actually focussing on the grass that is closer to the camera (front-focussing?)
