Hi, is it worth spending extra 600 on mk2 or mk1 is as good as mk2?
I'm not sure the IQ improvements are worth £600, but the IQ improvements and traditional zoom vs trombone zoom are probably worth £600.
It's more than the image quality though. 4 stop stabiliser, 3 position IS. And build quality seems to be consistent which wasn't the case with the MkI.
Personally I much prefer the trombone zoom. It's great for an action lens. Don't get me wrong, the IQ of the Mk II is superb and it's *usually* the lens I'd turn to first. But I still love the zoom-shoot action of the Mk I, whereas with the Mk II it's zoom-reposition left hand-shoot.I was just saying the IQ alone wasn't enough, but for me, the IQ + traditional zoom would be...
