Camping isn't what it used to be.

Sorry about not replying to all tese posts, the internet is a bit flakey but then again i'm 100m from the wireless router thing and we've been out and about all day.

Camping is great, we just shove the kit in the trailer and head off for the weekend. Cheap get aways in my mind. We've been away at least six times this year and if its a choice between a weekend in a tent or a weekend at home waiting to go to work on monday then show me the canvas!

On our site at least 50% of units are foriegn, mainly Germans. It's a bit like dunkirk for me at the moment.

This is our backpacking version when we go backpacking via Ryanair. We have been to Sardinia and Corsica with this and had a really great time.

and this is our more luxurious version when we don't have to carry it.

We love camping and caravanning, although I wouldn't like the bother of a big cumbersome caravan, out little Puck is great.

The only problem these days is that some campsite owners are getting so greedy and charge from £15 to £26 a night just for a field to put the tent or van on. Very often the facilities are non existent or useless too. Thankfully there are still some decent site owners, who charge between £6 and £10 per night, and have the added benefit of having no club.

Hi

We went camping on December 1st 2006. We never went back to the house as we had sold it :lol::lol:

We now live fulltime in our American RV and tour the UK.

A couple of weeks ago we met up with some friends ( well 40 of them) on a campsite near Cleethorpes one couple liked it so much they rented a bungalow on the site. We have stayed to help them decorate it,cor its hard work, who would want to live in a house :lol::lol:

me and suzie have just got back from our camping expedition around scotland, had a great time, saw some lovely places and basically had a cheap and fun week away, we finished off at the edinburugh fringe for 2 nites camping and it didnt stop raining all day yesterday, the campsite was about 3 inches underwater with all the water running down the hill and if we'd have stayed any longer i doubt you'd be able to move your car in the camping feild as it was that sodden!

good fun though :)
