Hey Guys,
Im a Nikon D200 user, and have been for a long while. I'm thinking upgrading this July 2010, as it will be my 21st birthday, and be putting some $$ in to get a Pro camera.
I was looking at D700, D3, D3x, or a D300s. I would like to emphasize that I am getting a more modern camera because the noise level on the D200 camera sensor is not enough for me at low light. I dare not to shoot higher then 1250. I prefer to use film, but why have a digital if you're not going to take advantage of the sensor technology??
I am living in Australia as well, and the prices here are still rather to high for a D3... So I'm wondering do you think the when the Nikon D700s and D3s released on the Australian market that the prices will drop by a few hundred??
Right now the D700 is $3000 - $3700(£1700 - £2100), D3 is $5695(£3150), and D3X around $9,000-12,000(£5056 - £6100).
I probably be better buying it in UK, when i come back in the summer and getting the 15% tax off of the camera as well...
How are the noise on these cameras? I've checked on flickr, but struggled to find the D3x in boost mode on ISO5000. Im looking for a camera with minimal noise through 100 - 800 but is also still not very noisey at 2000 and above. Any Thoughts?
Thanks
