have you had any problems?
Sony don't make any claims for either the A700/A850/A900 to be weatherproof but they seem to stand up extremely well.
& of course there are no "weatherproof" lenses in the mount ...

How about starting a "Calling all Sony Alpha 700 users!" thread muhahah![]()

noticed where I live?i think PAS needs a more weatherproof camera due to the fact he lives in stormy scotland![]()

noticed where I live?it's wetter in the West.
seriously, I once virtually killed a KM 7D in rain but I've never had a hint of a problem with the A700 in similar circumstances.

would be interesting if you could give more info on the A5xx series user experience - not too much info other than specs. out yet.
30/2.8 DT SAM Macro or the 28-75/2.8 SAM?The new f/2.8 lens is a corker too and is going to be really well priced.![]()

Maxsaver on eBay seem to have a decent reputation & lowish prices.hey guys..anyone recommend the best(read cheapest)place to get a hoya 77mm pro 1 D UV filter for my 70-400?
in their words when they "can do it right" - they don't believe any of their competitors' implementations is.
that's pretty much what they said about LiveView too.
you & everybody else ... dream on.I would like to see some not expensive body, like A500 with movie option and abilities like 5D MarkII...
the A700 is definitely due a replacement & I wouldn't be at all surprised to see 2 different versions - look at A3xx & A5xx series.
I'm looking for a cheap zoom lens (under £100) for my Sony A200 if anyone can recommend me anything. This will hopefully complement the kit lens.
if Sigma can be sure that it isn't the lens I would tend not to get the A100 repaired (btw how are you sure that it's the A100 circuitry that has gone haywire?) & put the money toward a new body leaving you with the a100 as a backup/2nd body.
If you can't find a cheap A700 then the new A500/A550 look quite impressive although I don't think that the build quality of the body will be upto A700/A850/A900 standards.
