the 70-300 G steps down quite quickly to 5.6 (quicker than the 70-400) & Scotland can be a pretty dim place outside the summer (heck, even during summer). Short of trying 1 or finding someone who uses it in the same conditions your guess is as good as ...
I'm thinking of going to Knockhill this Sunday, want to tag along?
Chris,
have a look at the sigma 70-200 f2.8, cracking sharp lens.
my recent post http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=143723 all images taken with the lens.![]()
Cheers mate, I've been a bit wary of a 200mm was worried it would be too short.
dont be, if you need 300mm, get a 1.4x(280mm) convertor... sorted. no affect on AF or quality.
you'll lose 1 stop so f2.8>f4.0
chris....i agree with PAS...70-200 with 1.4 TC for a constant F4 if you need the length![]()

Hi all Sony owners, I have a a300 and I am having a problem with dust spots on my photo's, I have been told these may be dust bunnies? on the sensor.
Is there anybody in the South Wales area who would be awilling to clean this for me, I would not expect this to be done for nothing.
Any offers
Alan
hi alan
can you post a shot up to show the "dust bunnies" please...just to confirm, and if they are,i can sort them for you no problem...and show you how to rid at the same time.just need to sort out a time convenient to us both.
Anyone here use the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX HSM on Sony?
