Buying from China

not exceptionally good at all, think about the time cost, the risk of losing it, the tax they may charge you ..
Personally, I don't think it's a good idea :)

Digital Rev are pretty good but how good the price is depends on what you buy. Popular items are cheaper than others but that's about it really.

Its not just the price of the item you need to be aware of. If your just lookin item price, then it can be much cheaper.

However, depending on the seller, and the type of item you have bought, you may be stung with import duty and VAT.

VAT is payable on most items coming into the UK, and most items you have to pay duty.

A quick google came up with this site that will help you calculate the import duty.

As i said before, it depends on the seller. Many chinese sellers on eBay will mark the item as a 'gift' on the import form so that it is not subject to extra charges. Some however, will not so you may want to check first.

a gift only raises one threshold from £ 18 to £ 36ish

I've had items valued on the import form with a value from 30GBP - 100GBP marked as a gift that have not been charged duty or VAT

What currency is that, the Yen??
Edit: if its the 'China Yuan Renminbi' then 47028 is 4,712.06GBP from www.xe.com

Also be aware of the possibility of counterfeit goods being supplied if the cost is "Too Good".
