Well, I've done it ... just handed in my notice at the day job so that I can concentrate on running LensesForHire full time.

Pretty scary.

All the best mate, what were you doing?

It's good that people can follow a career path that they actually enjoy :)

best of luck hope it works out for you.

Good on ya'! I did the same thing myself 10 years ago and have never looked back!;):D

I wish you all the best of luck Stewart, although I'm sure you won't need it! Btw, we'll be hiring a lens or two from you at some point in the future, now that you do Nikon kit too!:D

Good luck with it, mate :)

I wish you the best of luck Stewart. You've started a business with what I consider to be the right approach, listening to your customers and communicating with them on a friendly, warm, and personable level. Not many people do this, and I think you should be commended for it.

Good luck with the switchover

Good luck!

I did the same about 5 years ago. Since then we have had some ups and downs but so far so good. Would I do it again - absolutely!
Good luck with your venture - I will always take my hat off to anyone willing to give something like this a try - I might well get some lenses from you in the future.

Been there done that (in 1980!). First week day when you don't have a job to go to is a strange feeling. There is also only so much you can do with your time while you try to grow the business. I remember feeling a little guilty watching a lot of cricket on TV that first summer (started in may as well).

Once it gets busy you realise you swapped one boss for many - customers!

Good luck :)

Respect and good luck..........

Good luck but I'm sure you did the sums first.

Will help you out a little as I will be needing something for RAF Waddington in July.

Ahh, WhatTheDuck, it's so true lol

I'm sure you're doing it for the right reasons, and if any business deserves to succeed its yours :) Sounds a bit cheesy I know, but I really like it when companies take time out to connect to their customers on a proper, humane level, not some cheesy gimmicky promotions :)

Good Luck, hope it all goes well.

Any plans to stock Sony Mount Lenses ?

good luck! thought you were already doing it fulltime:shrug:

im sure you will do well, and maybe you will be able to use the lenses now!!!

Will definitly use you if i need a lens:thumbs:

Good luck and every success for the future.

Its funny I was thinking about you yesterday, I was thinking of looking into an 85mm L for my 5D and thought why buy and not like, when I can hire and decide for myself without blowing a fortune on it.

Well done, big decision, good luck

What more do i need to say ?

Brave move. Good luck mate, I wish you all the best

Well done Stewart, that really didn't take long for you to do. See you soon

did the same 15 years ago (became my own boss)
only one regret - wish I'd done it sooner

good luck to you - I hope it works out

Good luck mate!

It's good to ditch your boss every few years... keeps the adrenaline pumping!

Just do me a favour and don't ditch lensesforhire as i'm thinking of following up my last hire with a tasty little portrait lens....

Really good luck Stewart - keep up the good work :D

Personally, I think the idea's absolutely awesome, and I genuinly hope it works out for you dude

I admire anyone with the courage to make such a decision, I wish you the very best of luck and success in your venture.

Wishing you all the very best for the future. You'll have to stop moaning about the boss now!!

Cheers,

Nigel
