breast feeding week

I'm actually working with a pregnant girl in the office at the moment. I'll let you know how she reacts:D

you might not want to be standing too close when you show her :suspect:

Ha ha:D but fairs fair but she really wants to..............

I really don't understand the outrage TBH
When my ex was feeding "our two"
It was always "breast is best" for her, she never ever used a bottle or "expressed" at anytime.
Many times it was done / had to be done in public, as one of ours was a bloody gannet!

In fact she belonged to the NCT.
They used to have social get together's,
and of course the off spring needed feeding.
The women would "proudly" feed their babies, a "little discreetly" of course, but then
no one was taking any notice,
and the guys would all sit around chatting drinking beer or whatever.
There was never a sense of embarrassment, from either the women or the men.

Its one of the most natural an beautiful things in the world.
And should be "out in the open"

But of course if you think it should be behind closed doors,
and or under cover of darkness, like some dirty little habit,
and not to be discussed,
I'm quite willing to listen as to why you would think this.............

So why do they put the mother and baby facilities in the toilets then?

Would you eat your dinner there?

It's part of nature.. It should be out in the open, no lady should be made to feel what they are doing is wrong but sadly to often now that's the case.
Endless women in shops/cafes etc have been asked to leave/stop because it upsets other customers... It's shocking

So why do they put the mother and baby facilities in the toilets then?
Well having never been in one I assumed that they were nappy changing areas?
And of course the best place for them, would be, in the loo's

Would you eat your dinner there?
Heather
Absolutely not!

I agree, its bloody disgusting, that they should be asked to leave!

Maybe we as a nation are becoming more prudish?
I don't remember "us" ever having an issue, like that, 20 odd years ago.
Maybe the joke I made earlier was based on the more liberal attitudes,
of 20+ years ago.
I had no idea that "we" had become prudish over something so natural
What a bloody shame :(

OOPS,
errr i saw this advertised about 20 years ago, across the bridge i used to cycle across to get to work and it made me smile, its my birthday today, so it sort of stuck in my head.
It,s all just a bit of fun, childish yes, but hey, i,m only a man. I have 2 children, they were both breast fed, and they were fed as and when they wanted feeding, please , lets not let this get out of hand, its a a childish joke, but i,m not alone in finding it amusing.
Time to lighten up people ,
Dave

( BITTY . . . .)

Happy birthday Dave

hear hear any reason for women to get their breasts out in public gets my vote ;)

(before I get lynched by a rampaging mob of feminists, that was a joke :exit: )

I hate breast feeding, it should be banned.

(I get to say that as my week old daughter has had me up 3 times overnight while her dad gets to carry on sleeping)

If you both think that, then why is it necessary to make such a gauche joke of it

Would it be equally amusing if we did the same for "penile erectile dysfunction week"?

I'm sure you wouldn't stand for that (see what I did there)

you can if you want - it certainly wouldn't be hard ;)

(subtext - the reason we make a joke out of it is because we laugh at everything, its the spirit that makes Britain great)

Being the biggest tit around here, this subject is right up your street.

Sorry Pete, that wasn't at all funny - bit of a flop really ;)

sorry if you were disappointed in my performance its difficult to keep it up

To be honest the typical "school boy" humour has never bothered me.... Boys/men will always go silly over a pair of boobs! :P

It's the people that find breast feeding in public disgusting, like i said above so many have been booted out or again as above relegated to the loo's!

Dave happy birthday! :-D

Me neither when we're talking about norks in general - but I do find breastfeeding jokes very insensitive

Breast feeding is something fabulous & bonding & to be celebrated & is just a little bit naughty in a Benny Hill/childish way

Penile erectile dysfunction is an an affliction that splits couples & ruins lives

NOT the same

Do you write your own material? You should be on radio with stuff like that!!

Very poor comparison.

Breast feeding isn't an illness.

Why get so sensitive about it?

...

I don't quite understand people that bottle feed their babies - if you can't breast feed due to medical issues I can understand but choosing not ?????

I suppose its okay if you (that is the mother) expresses milk to use for the purpose ... using formala is a bad idea though imo

note on this if you are expressing milk for a feed FFS label the bottle - my mate chris once made a round of coffee using the breast milk that was in the fridge because the bottle was unlabled

to be fair it tasted okay at thetime, but when werealised what he'd done it was a bit

I never used bottles for my kids I was too tight fisted and too lazy to do so. and i have fed my children when and when they needed to be fed. as for expressing b****r that you still have to sort the bottles out..

Heather

Because the mother and baby facilities are for changing your baby, and allowing you a big enough space to also go to the toilet, and not for breast feeding?

There's a big mass-breast-feeding event in Norwich somewhere, where lots of women are meeting up to all breast feed at once.

Now, while I'm pro-breast-feeding, and don't understand why anyone is remotely offended by it. I find that idea, a tad creepy.
