Hi,
booked for the first time as the Brides father is a mate and he knows that we have a Bontempi organ in the spare room - it used to belong to my uncle, I know its a good one as it has a switch for M for manual mode and P for Professional mode.
I use the P setting because it plays a lot of tunes and does the work for you.
Anyway the real question was if any of you know where I can get some guitarists cheap, a mate said I should have one or two if I am starting a band and maybe some drums. I did try beating the bottom of some old oil drums into shape like one of those carribean bands, anyway I know they are not like the professional ones but they should fill in until I can affford to upgrade.
What sort of outfit do you think I should wear? A suit to blend in with the guests or some flares or draipipes so that I look a little more hip? I am letting my sidies grow as I want to develop a unique style.
Somebody else said I need some amps and decks, well we have a 13 ampere socket on our decking but I dont know how I will transport it to the reception. Do you think this is a good idea or could someone lend me theirs?
I thought I might need a contract so if anybody has a copy they can send that would be wicked, does not matter what sort of music contract as I am only starting out.
What do you think I should charge? I know I am not a Pro but I can now play Chopsticks and they are getting a full band, I thought maybe I could just turn up and if they like it we could arrange a price at the end of the reception or should I charge £20 for attending and £2.50 per track.
Anyway your help is really needed as the Wedding is this Saturday and they dont know this is my first one.
You would not really do this so why do so many take on photographic jobs without having the first clue how to do it, the equipment to do the job or not even a clue what to charge.

that was funny to read but fully understand what you are saying.
