Good Idea, Liking the use of the out of focus property section in the background

Nice to see a different point of view, agree with tomph, though - shop out that logo

Great idea, I echo the kindle logo comments. I would have liked the kindle slightly at an agle to the background, this feels very formal. (oh and maybe not such a tight crop).

I did try at an angle but it just looked wrong

I'm in favour the logo... without it I don't think you would know it was a kindle screen shot as opposed to a printed page and I like the mix of media. Well done in controlling the exposure.

Well constructed shot. I'd like to see a shallower dof to really focus the eye on the top 3 or 4 lines of text.

Wonder of you work for Apple...

Cheers.

I like that shot. I think the Kindle logo adds to the picture. The sales details in the shop window are recognisable although OOF. Great idea.

Great take on the theme, I like the photo but am in two minds about the logo. Nice depth of field.

Cheers

Dawn :)

thanks everyone . I quite the logo although I can see the point from those that don't will have a go and compare the two

was really stumped this week so this is my effort not very good will do better next week (hopefully lol)

Looks a wee bit dull to me. There looks to be a potential of some great colours in there with the different browns. Was this shot with natural light? A bit of flash may have brought the colours out more.

Was done with natural light took some with the flash but it wasnt as keen on the colours

None flash version for me...I like the way the eye is drawn to the green shoot - nice shot:)

Great take on your week 2 theme. Have to say I prefer the first photo as the green is more vibrant. I also like the colours of the leaves etc, around the green shoot, gives it a feeling of 'life after death', if you know what I mean.

Good luck with the next theme.

Cheers

Dawn :)

I've taken similar shots with my D90 and been a little disappointed that they seem to look a bit... flat ?

You know what... this shot might be suitable for selective colouring, with the new shoot in green and the rest in B&W.

A square crop might add something different too.

Daniel.

I'm liking the none flash version too. Having the rest of the shot in those dark drab colours really shows off that shoot. Really fitting for this weeks theme

Absolutely the original one - the flash totally robbed the photo of all of its depth and character.

Hope you don't mind... I had a quick play.
Not sure that it's actually any better, but it does highlight the shoot...

i still prefer the first one however leave it on as I'd like to see which people prefer

Thanks for all the comments :)

Prefer the first shot, although it is probably a touch under exposed

I just love the STYLE of my handbag :)

I think I'd prefer it taken at an angle so that one of the flowery bits was in focus with the other colours slightly OOF in the background.

will try at different angles when i get a few minutes peace !!

Hiya,

I like your idea for the theme this week. You have caught the colours well, and I agree with the what has been said about taking it from a different angle, that way it may help minimise the light reflection in the silver braiding. Also suggest you also straighten the petal on the blue flower.

Cheers

Dawn :)

I have taken 207 shots this evening to try and get this shot and it is far from perfect .
I am struggling with my lighting and the reflection on the glass (help !!! ) why I decided to use a clam is beside me maybe cos it was my new addition !!
I have added a shot of the clam in the bag which had more issues due to the plastic bag it was in and the tank glass
but hey it's open !!!
