Bobsbabes 52 2011 open

Great take on the theme. I actually prefer the 2nd shot. It a lot sharper than the 1st shot. I think the diagonal lines of the bag add an abstract feel to it. The only thing that is a bit distracting is the crease and reflection in the top right hand corner. Good effort!!

had put up the wrong link to one pic so have readded

I too prefer the shots in the bags as they are sharper

cant you temp remove it from the tank that is causing all the issues? It's a great subject idea... I once tried to take shots of my goldfish and they where awful shooting into the tank... you wont get much better unless you can remove the glass...

it was only in the bag whilst aclimatising it so can't take it out of the water now

grr just decided to have another go got the camera and tripod out was setting things up and ..the damn thing has gone :( he has done a runner somewhere else in the tank and i can't find him so there will be no reshoot of him :(

Well, don't they just say to never work with children or animals

I actually like the two "bag" shots, it makes it look like it's at the bottom of a deep and dark ocean

Hi Bob , my apologies as I seem to have missed your thread completely :'(

Like the original pic posted for new , fits the theme well:thumbs:

Really like the fish shots but for me the best one is is the 3rd one .Can understand how hard it must have been trying to shot through glass & plastic but the bag doesn't bother me because the Clam is beautiful

Like your style shot as an idea but , as per Dawn , straightening the petal would've been good

Good luck with the rest of your 52

Hiya,

I have just seen your post for Open and must say I like the idea. I prefer the first photo, even though not as sharp a the other two, but it puts it in better perspective for me. In the bag it looks more 'closed' in, but in the tank it looks more realistic.

What lighting were you using? I find by changing the angle and trying different lighting techniques sometimes helps, especially for surfaces prone to refelection, like glass, ceramic etc.

Cheers

Dawn :)
