We're pleased to announce a new partnership with Blurb Photobooks.

In addition to them sponsoring some of this year's and next year's POTY competition, they have kindly agreed to give us, for a limited time only, a special and exclusive

£5 introductory discount voucher
only for TalkPhotography members!
.

The code is : TPOFFER08

If you've never heard of Blurb before, then allow me to explain.

Have you ever thought of creating your own photobook? That's where Blurb come in.
Simply download the Blurb Booksmart™ Software, and add your photos and text, finishing with clicking 'Publish'...it really is that simple!
Your book is then for sale to anyone (you can set it to private if required), at a price margin you decide . All that is required is that you purchase just one copy yourself.

I (Marcel) have had a bit of a look through the software and it's really easy to use, and the book is very customisable.

With prices starting from just £6.95, it's never been easier or cheaper to publish your very own book.
And now with the exclusive £5 off TP Introductory offer, it's even cheaper still!

Please note, that this offer is for a limited time only. It is set to expire in mid January 2009.
So if you were planning on putting a photobook together..then maybe you should start thinking about doing it soon!

I use Blurb for doing the odd wedding photobook, can't fault them at all! Excellent quality and great prices...so I advise people to use the offer! For £5 it can't do no harm to try! :p

these books are top quality, you can make and sell your own book on blurb, making a little money from your work. The binding is top class, it knocks similar UK efforts into a cocked hat for quality.

Agreed. They're more real book like than Photobox ones I've had done. More options too like a proper inside bit.

Sorry, didn't make it too clear. It's £5 off a photobook....ie a £5 discount.

To get the discount, enter the code when you are ordering your book on the website (after you've used the software to create and upload it).

Interesting, I'll take a look at that...thanks:thumbs:

The books aren't exactly expensive to begin with. I've had plenty of favourable feedback on the quality of the ones I've had. Definitely a favourite of mine and the software works pretty well, too.

Very interesting but as usual the technology scare me. :runaway:
I'll have a look in more detail when the hangovers gone.

Andy

I suppose I'd better make a start on my 365 book, so it's ready to go when I finish :D

I've just had 5 books printed as Christmas pressies and they arrived in 10days from ordering so :thumbs: from me

Works out at about £8.50 for 40 pages in softcover 8x10" including shipping. bargain.

I've just had a couple done of my first exhibition and the colour reproduction is fantastic. Just watch out for the cropping though, but the quality is much better than the photobox ones I had done a few months ago. I did get $10 off for paying in dollars as you get the choice of $ £ or Euros. They get a  from me.

Looks good. Can anyone tell me if they have blurbbook printed on them anywhere?

All Blurb books feature a small Blurb logo, but it's easy to upgrade and add your own logo in its place. You can add your custom logo while in BookSmart with simple drag and drop. Nothing complicated.

Book orders ship in Blurb-branded packaging. If you prefer to customize your packaging, we recommend you have your order shipped directly to you so you can handle the final presentation to your customers.

Also, in the FAQ, How do I remove the Blurb logo from my book?

Im going to talk to Dean at Blurb about that, currently they are due to expire around the 13th Jan. I will see if we can get them extended.

Just finalising my first Blurb book - looking forward to seeing how it compares with Photobox et al.

Thanks for arranging the discount.

Chris

Blurb will extend this offer to the 14th February now, so all you romantics can do your other halfs special and unique books...

Just got notification, 9 days after placing the order, that they have sent my (small) order out. Hopefully the book is worth the wait. Any idea where they send out from? I note that they seem pretty multi national.

Chris

Mines just arrived today, it was ordered on the 29 Decemeber and despatched on the 6th January. I actually contacted them yesterday as I was concerned it had gone missing. I got a quick response and was advised that it may have got caught in customs as they normally arrive in a timely manner but nearly always within 15days.

Was it worth the wait, yes, I'm very pleased with the quality of the book, in terms of print quality and build quality:thumbs:

Now I know they are shipped from abroad I'll allow more time for delivery as I think I'll use them again. Thanks TP and Blurb for the discount:)

I think that I was expecting 10 days, 15 days seems alot. Photobox have always been less than that - but if the quality is there it may be worth the wait. I'll look for a parcel from Holland!

Chris

You should get sooner, they did say most arrive quicker but sometimes customs hold things up. I'm prepared to believe them on this occasion but would be interested to see how others get on.

i will check that Michael...
