bloody winds

Well that's the wild life taken care of, what's next for extinction?
:(

Liverpool fans lashing £70 on a seat at Anfield?

Am (hoping) to get the ferry from Pembroke to Rosslare on Tuesday. I have a family wedding in Wicklow on Wednesday.

Oooo, nothing like a good Force 10 across the southern Irish Sea!!! :wideyed::wideyed::puke::puke::hungover::hungover:

Been doing it man and boy for 60 years - 'well hard'.....

Did a 20 hour crossing on the old B&I ferry "Leinster" Liverpool to Dublin route many years ago - that nearly beat me as we could not get into Dublin Port!

Ere we go, southern jessies moaning about a slight breeze and a bit of drizzle, come back when you've had two months of it with hardly a day to pick your roof slates up.I lived in Kent during the Great Breeze of 87,granted that was a touch draughty but this is nowt.
Fence pannels my arse, get some stone walls lad.

I agree with crofter this seemed like barely anything for us up on the chilterns and downs. Never felt the urge to get my army helmet out when going outside. Shame as I love high winds despite having witnessed people getting seriously injured back in the eighties, so I respect them.

Good man.(y)
Its much calmer here today also, the Oak trees are gently swaying in the breeze, and not bowing to Mecca like they were yesterday :D

Might be worth a trip to the coast tomorrow to get some action shots! (y)

Don't forget your wellies and waterwings, stay safe out there.:)

Full oilies and lifejacket will be worn! Might be worth a ferry trip across The Solent and back just for the hell of it.

:beer:I do believe someone in Weymouth had a bit of a cry this afternoon when the froth got blown off his lager shandy

Good man.(y) it's just a bottom burp from the almighty.
It seems to be all noise and not a lot of substance. There are a few areas at work where the wind always seems to blow and it doesn't seem much more than normal.

Tonight it made my eyes water :( /southern-sissy

The wind did pack a punch at this end today, went down to the Folkestone Sands this morning when it was high tide and got this . . .

Apart from the already weakened neighbour's panel fencing having been ripped to shreds by the gusty winds this afternoon, there hadn't been any real issues today - especially since it stayed mostly dry and bright apart from a passing blustery shower at 5 pm.

Was a bit blowy in South Essex yesterday but please to report no damage :)

Car did get a bit of a sand-blasting when I drove home along Southend Seafront last night though

We had half a tree go through the works Mitsubishi Warrior as it was drivign along. Punctured through the front grill, rad, oil cooler, wings. The rest of the tree went onto the car behind.

I think there's a post each side that's broken at ground level. The only 2 original ones left and we moved in 25 years ago so they've lasted well! Will get them sorted when the ground's dry enough to dig rather than pump...

Never experienced winds like we had on Monday here in South Wales....Lost a end ridge tile on the front of house and luckily missed my neighbours Range Rover Sport by about 18 inches. She has a new born and a toddler and is back and for Jeep regularly during the day.

Roofer called yesterday and will refix when rain stops. Hopefully he will come toady as it's sunny here at present, but as he's a mate/customer of my BIL it's being done for mates rate and a lot cheaper than my insurance excess. Hes probably coining it in now around this area.

The roofer mentioned, if it had hit the RR my home insurance wouldn't pay out as it was "an act of god" would that be true.?

And if it was true by the same token that means you dont have to pay for the damage to neighbours car as it was "act of god".

True, luckily I don't have to go down that route.
