just gonna throw in a big one here. The reason why a lot of kids have gone off the rails nowadays is because the government has made it harder for us to dicipline our kids. Smacking has been outlawed, kids know that they can pretty much get away with anything because to a degree the police are powerless, and a kid now isn't a problem kid, he now has ADHD, so instead of treating them all like special little snowflakes and pussy footing around them, you will get some progress. Now its not all the government, a lot of the blame will fall on the parents, after all too many parents like having kids to bump up benefits, get a new house and are still kids themsleves. DVD players and xboxes are the parent of choice.
"Just throw thm in front of the toy story trilogy co's i cant be bothered to deal with them."
Now i appreciate that smacking is a taboo subject, its like marmite, however if i was bad i got smacked, i learn't respect and i darn't answer my parents back. I didn't grow up with a chip on my sholder or thought the world owed me a living, a short sharp shock kept me in line, because this government guideline super nanny crap really would not have worked with me. All kids are different, and one type of punishment will not always work with all kids. There is a thin line between smacking your kids because they decided to pour paint all over your living room, to beating your kid to within an inch of his life because he coughed during the queens speech on christmas day. Now yes it is true that a lot of kids run riot in the streets and yes a lot of it is to do with lazy parents and lack of dicipline and yes a lot is to do with the government and society.
One thing i hate hearing is when kids in my town say "well theres nothing to do."
so apart from the Cinema, town centre, various youth centres, skateboard park, museums, swimming pool, lake, many many parks, arcade centre, gyms, army cadets, air cadets, sea cadets, football clubs, boxing clubs, 103 other clubs there really is nothing to do. We really do live in an emmerdale village in the sticks that is known as hertfordshire.
But as i said in an earlier post, there are a lot of bad kids about, but there are also a lot of good kids too. And i have personally found the elderly in my town are VERY rude. A young hoodie opened a door for a pensioner and she completely blanked him, no thank you or anything. A couple of old women were complaining about my wife on the bus because she was young and sitting on the bus with a baby. She was married to me but because she was on her own she had to be a single mother unmarried with a child.
Again re explaining a post i mentioned earlier about some old ladies walking passed our local skateboard park, they were complaining that the kids should have something better to do. Like what? mug you, throw stones at your house? sit at home all day being lazy on the xbox, or get a job? but they are still in school most of them, don't wish their life away already by making them work, they were all contained within the sakteboard park, minding their own business having fun, and not hurting anyone. even there they are still in the wrong. I have probably gone way off topic now and my fingers hurt so i will leave it at that.
