Hi, just dropping in for the first time. Apologies but I'll start with sweet.
I love those tins, the colours are amazing they look almost 3d. The mints do look like pills, not sure if there's a way around that, maybe have one of the tins open with the mints in it?

Hi Lynne,
I'm going to go straight to your sweet shot......it's brilliant..I love it just the way it is!
Direction, not seen a plughole quite like that before...what a great take on the theme.
Fear, like this one alot, very well shot.
Sigh, I'm singing that song now...sigh!
I'll be popping back to see what you do in week 5.
All the best
Carol
Hiya Lynne, apologies, I missed your sigh and sweet pics! Right, sweet first, I like this! Only thing I would do is to actually move the right hand tin a little further to the right, just to separate the sweets and the tin. A great effoert and well done!
Sigh, I like this and a good bit of pp work, I clicked large and to be honest it didn't seem to bad. The composition of the shot works very well for me and I the added text works ok with your chosen colour. It was certainly a tough theme to do.
Week 5 tomorrow!!
God I'm so glad I'm not doing this years 52, pencils are so much easier.
Sigh is a tough one, but this is not a poetry forum
Now is the poem yours or is it off a late 70's/ early 80's sit com that I cannot remember the name of. Apologies if the answer is somewhere in the thread, I've not read them all!
Sweet, yes the composition needs some work.
Possibly the tin lid slightly a jar on one of them showing sweets in the tin?
Did your customer tell you what the before and after sweets for for, ie before and after whatfrom the direction my mind has gone I can only think it would be better than smoking!
I hope today is a good theme.

Hi Lynne
Just passing by trying to get some comments done on other 52ers. Liking your take on Direction, plenty of swirl.
The Sign is a nice idea but could do with a bit of colour increase as looks a tad dull unless its my screen.
Idea for Sweet, loving the tins, very good colour. Can only echo thoughts of others on pills and composition.
Its all going well though
Hi, sorry I've not been here earlier, but here is my 2d worth,
Direction: My favorite is no. 1. Lovely composition, nice colours and great idea for the theme.
Fear: I'd be frightened just standing by whilst you took that shot. I like the flame as it is, and love the glossy base and reflections.
Sigh: That bloody song is in my head now! Is that a butterfly? I don't think I've seen one like that. A nice image but I'm not keen on the text if I'm honest.
Sweet: Love it. Maybe a little colour in the mints would be good but the colour of the tins is fantastic. The lips look almost 3d. One question though; before and after what?
I like your take on the sweet theme a lot Lynne. The vibrant colours, sharp focus and high contrast all make for a cracking photograph. As someone said above, it has a 3D feel about it. All round good work. Iain
Hi Lynne , just trying to catch up with a few comments
Sigh - i like the idea but for me the colours are too insipid.
Sweet - good pic - lots of vibrant colours and definitely gets theme across. The contrast with background helps make it grab the attention.
Love your butterfly idea. The sweets are great fun, thanks Mandy
& moving swiftly on to Sweet
Still not too clued up on this composition malarky....& before anyone mentions highlights on the lips...thats exactly how the tins are![]()
Hi Blondie - like your sweet very much. Composition and particularly the lighting. Highlights on tin look entirely natural to me. Mike
Fear I like the use of the reflections. Nicely taken.
Sigh Overall it doesnt do a lot for me Im afraid but do like the positioning and angle of the butterfly
Sweet - Youve captured this one well
Where's your secure young lady
We're patiently awaiting.... Hope you're not too busy shopping for camera gear
Cheers.

At Andy's request I've finally got round to Secure.....not happy with the idea or execution but really didn't like the theme
There is a bit of dodgy cloning...had to remove my details & rushed
Thankfully Industry may well reboot my enthusiam...got a few ideas...but only got tomorrow to sort them....
Don't be so hard on yourself it works well ... we all want to secure our wallets from the clutches of those.
Hhhmmmm, I think you're being a bit hard on yourself here. You have: crisp whites, great depth and sharpness. Composition is good for me. Great idea..lady!!
Cheers and looking forward to Industry.
On a side note, if you not getting vibes from a theme, there's nowt wrong with either using a placeholder or using a Joker. We all get a bit  about certain themes...but we fight though them...or die trying![]()
Trying to avoid jokers , placeholders a no no as I'll forget to redo them...what with the meet , trying to get my head round which body to buy , loads of shots to process , POTY & photomatix to play with ...oh & work as well there just ain't anough hours in the day
Secure - I must admit I like this shot. Great idea
I am with Gramps on this Lynne, don't be so hard on yourself.
Its bang on theme, sharp, well lit and is creative, there's not much more to say, good work.
Iain
Hey Lynne I think it works well, great lighting and the wallet is lovely and sharp with great detail.
Some weeks will be harder than others and I think we've had some toughy's already. Personally industry is going to be tough for me and this snow isn't helping!
Plenty of support here to keep you going![]()

i love it, brilliant idea and the shot works well![]()
Nice shot. It would have worked well without the padlock but I think this extra addition really makes it. Well done.
I think you've done a really nice job Lynne, very good mid-tones, clear whites and a really original idea with good composition. I really like the padlock![]()
Alas I'm more worried about driving in it than the photos! We have a light dusting of snow around here and it's impossible to get your car off the drive!blondie606 said:Snow is great , though maybe doesn't quite suit Industry...ain't that just typical![]()

Another great week Lynne, your take on secure is fantastic. It's nicely composed, super sharp and perfectly lit. I look forward to seeing your take on industry![]()
) but I'll leave it to you lot to confirm

) I worked on the 1st chimney on the right being straight - not sure my eye's are straight though - not 100% with it but given the angle I had to shoot from I'm chuffed Colour for me, bricks and rust help bring out the 'industrial'.
I like them both but perhaps #2 needs to be darkened a bit? it's always more satisfying when you have to 'work' to get a shot![]()

Bang on theme , cant get more industrious than a factory suppose... i think it needs a bit more pp to get the verticals right though.
Cheers
Steve
..... flippin verticals.....If I could have stood directly in front of the building I think I'd have been ok....stood below the building , & to the right , so camera twisted through fencing to the left....had to settle for the far right chimney being as vertical as I could get it....the rest is an optical conclusion....honest
Oi ! Don't you start mister..... flippin verticals.....If I could have stood directly in front of the building I think I'd have been ok....stood below the building , & to the right , so camera twisted through fencing to the left....had to settle for the far right chimney being as vertical as I could get it....the rest is an optical conclusion....honest

An Audi TT with 4 wheel drive apparently does the job! I made it out today but I had similar issues to you, a huge big power station that you can't get a clear shot of! Mine are RUBBISH compared to yours!blondie606 said:Snow tyres Marsha....they ROCKGot a set on the front for the 1st time ever...WOW...seriously impressive grip
![]()
Difficult to get the verticals right when there's so many, you get one straight the rest are wonky or vice versa
Good shot though, on theme and while both shots are good, I think the colour one is better as said above, the rust and bricks ooze industry.
These indutrial places are huge!
Colour for me too. An alternative could have been a closer shot of the yellow and blue structure in the bottom right but judging by the athletics it took to get this I don't think youll try and re-visit!
Arent the skies rubbish today though!
I appreciate the effort you took to get the shot. I had to stand on the boot of my car to get me high enough to take a shot over the barbed wire and fencing for my Industry shot. It didnt look at all dodgy![]()

Well, you'rrrrrreeee back!!
Very industrial and the effort you took paid off. Colour for me. Did you use a grad filter? Pity the lower sections of the building are cropped.
Cheers.
Hi Lynne,
I saw your Secure on flickr and liked it.
I didn't like all of it though. The top of the frame lets it down for me.
I would have preferred more paper work to fill the frame.
However, the idea and padlock are great, it hits the theme bang on.
Industrial, um, I'm torn on this one between the colour and mono.
I usually prefer colour for the things this has, the rust, bricks etc., but the sky is a little dull.
The mono has chrome a feel to it which says industrial to me, don't know why!
So I'm going to say mono for me.
As for enthusiasm, get a grip girl.
You're an old hat at this 52 malarky.
This should be water off a duck's back by now.
You got through the 2011 Paradox week, what on earth could be worse?
Now snap out of it![]()

I prefer the colour shot. As for your verticals it looks worse as the towers on the left taper away so you could never get them perfect. I think you've done well!
It was very careless of you to loose your mojo in the first place but i'm glad you found it again! No 1 for me i like the colour and the collection of verticals. It is very frustrating to not get the shot you want because of some obstruction in the way but you have done a great job under the circumstances and certainly have that 'industrial' feel to it. Nice work missy![]()
