Blondie606's Photo52 2011-Wk 52 Glass & Nature,Challenge Complete

& as a bonus....Nature....usually one of my fave subjects I was actually a bit stumped on this :'(

Stopped on way back from Sheffield & got this :

Possibly a little oof, handheld again but the wind kept moving the leaf around

then saw this which I really liked but proved a bigger nightmare to get straight than the apartments :bang: Settled for getting the lampost straight in the end !

Harnessing the power of Nature for our benefit...think I was shooting in to the light which was not ideal but was trying to get some interest in the sky....the other direction had great big blooming black clouds

So , there you have it Guy's n Gals...52 weeks of pure fun .

A huge thanks to all of you who have commented , critiqued , kicked my backside & generally been a fantastic support over this last year ....couldn't have done it without you all....I'm hoping next year will be just as much fun

So all that remains is for me to say HAPPY CHRISTMAS one & all...have a great time....here's hoping Santa brings you all you wish for :D

ps....I need a project...getting withdrawal symptoms already

Hiya Lynne,

:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Well done babes, you have made it to the end, plus the bonus track :D

Looking through your whole year I can see how you have developed your photography skills.

For Glass ... I recognise that building :D and I think you have done a fantastic job of taking shots of same. My fav is #1 ... I love the mono and the way the building draws my eye into the shot. #3 ... the tungsten has really worked well here and I love the reflection of the clouds on the building.

Nature .... I like the shot in the sense that amongst all the dry dead leaves, there is but life ..... which is quite apt really for the end of the challenge.

A huge congrats .... you are an absolutely fantastic gal and it has been such a pleasure to meet you and have you on the Photo52 team this year.

I'm sure we will remain in contact post 52, you are an ace friend and fab person. Look forward to seeing you in January for the final 52 meet.

Merry Christmas to you, may you be blessed with much happiness, love, joy and loads of pressies (btw I will give you your Chrimbo pressie at the meet in Jan ;))

Cheers babes, and thanks for all your support and encouragement throughout the year (both photographic and personal).

You are a star

The CPL should have enabled you to choose between reflections or none.

My preference is #1, the tones are subtle enough to allow the eye to enjoy the composition. #2 is very pleasant and would have had my vote but for #1. The blue I find too startling and detracts from the image imo.

Happy Christmas

That's what frustrates me about my photography, not thinking of the idea for a theme that should have been obvious to me. I'm referring about your glass shots. I work in Architecture and talk about glass facades most days, but the idea of taking a photo of glass in a building never came to me!

I love the first glass, I'd rather a little more colour, but I still like it as it is.

Your nature is good too.
The leaf stands out well against the background.

Well done to you for finishing, it's been great sharing the year with you and the others.
And thanks for paying my thread a regular visit, I appreciated the support.

See you in a few weeks.

There's always one :bonk: It did indeed feel tranquil...strange for a nuclear power station ! To get closer at that angle would have meant a bit of trespassing & I didn't fancy getting arrested  was using the kit 18-55 lens , the light was going so opened it up wide as possible & yes was hand held in a bit of a breeze...no where to put the tripod - the mud didn't look that safe ! I tweaked a bit in pse but couldn't go to far as it started to create odd pixelation type swirls in the sky - not sure why though as ISO was quite low think ??

How very bizarre....I was returning to Leeds from Scotland today and i looked left and thought, "I know that building!!"...blooming heck, it was the one you photographed for light...what a stunning building. Well spotted...

Well, Lynne, very strong finish there.

Glass...very nice, very, very nice. I really like to perspective. Of the 3,#1 stands head and shoulders above the other 2. B&W works well to emphasise starkness of the building.

Nature, nice and simple but very effective. Great contrast and looks sharp to be, despite the wind blowing the leaf.

Nature #2, well spotted and nice movement in the blades.

Fantastic finale...

See you in a few (w)eeks...
