weekly Blondie606's 52 2013 Wk 52 Water-The End :-(

PLenty - it's the third one for me!

I love abstracts from landscapes. This reminds me of the work of the artist Peter Watson. Ace.

Plenty of lean for me is the better pic the wheelie bin is a bit of an issue maybe a much tighter crop to just above the crash barriers

Hi Lynne, nothing much to add to the comments allready posted, just saying hello

Hi Lynne

Catch up time

Rock - good technique and the mono suits it well. I agree with you about the left rock - strange really. The pano crop works very well and adds to the interest I think

Pair - prefer the colour , the negative shot does nothing for me. The colour is so delicate and you have emphasised this by the use of the subtle pastel, mottled b/g. Really nice shot:thumbs:

reshoot - the flower shot has good quality and I agree with others about the 'sketch' type feel, altho usually I prefer colour for flowers. The bee is super -- good detail and colour and dof

Shape - on theme and good feeling of 'explosion' as it seems to come towards the viewer. Again the colour for me.

Plenty - #1 is a decent action shot but the b/g spoils it for me.
#2 is more my idea of the theme. Like the angles, the colours and how they are appearing above the hill. And I like the height of the trees behind.

I can't make up my mind about #3. Seems a bit of a nothing shot and yet others have found interest in it so I am a bit bemused.

Plenty #2 for me (if I imagine the watermark out of the way). I like #1 a lot, the body position is lovely, but the angle make it look like he's running out of road, which makes me a bit twitchy.

Hi

Pair:lovely...think I prefer the B&W but would have either on my wall
Shape:see above :)
Plenty: Plenty of action is my choice

OMG... were you not tempted to straighten some of them up when you were there

Really liking the bike shots Lynne, shame about the watermark but guess it's best for them type of shots

The second could take a good bit of cropping from the top for me - but you have caught the Action in the corners really well, with good colours and detail

Yup , got fed up with people just downloading them so big watermark just makes it a little more difficult :D

When I've posted in the motorsport sectioned I was advised to try & include more of the area to make it more obvious which circuit it was taken at....& that shot could only be Cadwell...but I take your point

"lean angle" is great, nice and sharp, mostly greens with the splash of red on the kerbs drawing the eyes to the rider.... that wheelie bin is a perfect subject for the clone tool though.. Can't recall if I've seen mention of you being a dab hand with this or not.. 10 mins spent gets rid of it pretty well. see >>here<< for my quick effort. ;) (slight blur added to far BG and near FG too.

I quite like the non straight rows, adds a bit of interest, converging lines, nice greens. Think you have to fight the OCD sometimes or they will just get stronger and start to limit what you do.

Cheers Graham....great removal of wheelie bin there , I didn't even see the blooming thing cos I was concentrating on the bike :bang: I had a quick go but gave up...cloning still baffles me :'(

Aye....try really hard to keep my ocd's at bay...but that shot killed me

Thanks Brian...not heard of Peter Watson but I'll take the compliment anyway :D

Hi Alan...thanks for popping in...they sure get some crazy angles out there....I never even spotted the wheelie bin :bonk:

Hi Lynne, nothing much to add to the comments allready posted, just saying hello

Thanks mister

Wow..thanks for the mega catch up Alan :thumbs:Glad you like the shots.....I , like you , am a bit bemused over the reaction to plenty 3

Plenty #2 for me (if I imagine the watermark out of the way). I like #1 a lot, the body position is lovely, but the angle make it look like he's running out of road, which makes me a bit twitchy.

Thanks Nick......oh for a media pass at Cadwell........

Thanks Anita....glad someone else likes the B&W of pair ,thanks for your kind comments

Week 29 & now we're on the downhill slide to the end

Sort of lost my mojo a bit , haven't really wanted to pick the camera up this weekend for some reason

Bought these a while back ,being sure I'd find a use for them at some point during the year.........a combination of gusts of wind & fairly weak oasis meant the bloomin things kept rotating out of position...this was my best attempt....

Wk 29 Speed by llj666, on Flickr

I'm still debating the arrangement but kinda like the static one being central......possibly

Hi, Plenty #1 for me...Nutters :bonk: Nice focus and the splash of red works for me. Blooming bin in the BG! Why f29?

Speed, good sense of motion. I'd like to see the blur increasing from left to right, with the central one on the RHS. Crit, well, it's a tad dark on my laptop.

Cheers.

Speed, nice movement but like Andy I'd also like to see the blur from one side to the static rather than a static central one, could be wrong though ;)

Hi Lynne

We seem to have done a similar thing
all i can say its a great idea ;) exposure wise it looks ok on my screen

Despite loosing points for not being first off the mark for this idea I like it...but my eyes are a bit puzzled about the DoF... I mean logically I am thinking the sharpest is in front, but it appears smaller and then the other two at the side are pin sharp in the centre.

I particularly like these on the black background though

Hi Lynne, bit of a catch up from me!

Plenty - I'd have to go with number one, I think perhaps the others match the theme better - but I much prefer number one as a photo! Always tricky balance with these 52 shots! I second the comments on the bin in the BG though. Shooting at f29 will mean that you won't lose much detail in the BG, and I don't think it's helped you here with the bin! I do like the composition and the colours come through nicely too!

Speed - The arrangement works I think! Black BG really makes them 'pop' too, nicely done! I think the static one works well also, as without it it wouldn't be as obvious as to what they are? Are they actually arranged like this Lynne or is that 3 shots you've stitched together in PS?
p.s. extra points for having the foresight to buy these a while ago knowing they'd come in useful for your 52! ;)

Hi Lynne, I like the low key look of this but like others I am also a bit thrown by the composition... can't really tell why though  wish I could help but I'm stumped.

Regarding Peter Watson, he's a painter, but Judging you by your plenty shot :naughty: I know... I think you will like.

Hi Lynne

Speed - that works for me . I like the comp even tho it is a bit eccentric. Good point made about the dof by Chris - all that sharpness and blur
Colours really work and there is a real sense of speed in the shot.

Had a look at these. That bloke can paint better than your farmer could sow :)

I love you pair and below reshoot, beautiful!

Plenty: It has a bike in it enough said! Fits theme well. Also like your crop one, im surprised their not equally spaced as its all done on tractors.

Speed: Works well for me, like how they are placed and the amount of blur on them.

I reckon the arrangement's about right. I like the static one being central, and the varying speed in the other two works nicely.

Hiya Lynne, trying a catch up here, sorry it's been a while!

Week 22, Below,
Nice sky, looks great in b+w and plenty of things going on.

Week 23, Size,
really like this one, lovely subtle colours and well focussed, just a tad more dof to bring the bugs legs into focus,

Week 24, Process,
Nice colours again, a little tight on the crop for me, but it works.

Week 25, Rock,
Certainly the first one out of the 2 for me, I find it better balanced.Looks super in b+w and I really like the sky.

Week 26, Pair
Nice and simple, well composed and lit and I like the framing you have used.

Week 27, Shape
The clean bg really sets the allium head off, works well in b+w and I like the composition. I prefer this to the other version, that one doesn't really work for me.

Week 28, Pair reshoot
Thats nice. Really like the conversion and I like the positioning of the flowers.

Plenty,
Both shots are very good, I find myself preferring the first, nice tight crop on the single rider makes him/her stand out.

Week 29, Speed,
Very nice, great positioning of the windmills and I like how have them going at different speeds. Nice colours too.

Thanks Andy....f29 ??? I have no idea but suspect it was yet another senior moment  I knew the arrangement wouldn't be to everyone's taste but wanted to stay away from the obvious layout....

Speed, nice movement but like Andy I'd also like to see the blur from one side to the static rather than a static central one, could be wrong though ;)

Cheers Mark...looks like my cunning plan to steer away from the obvious layout has bombed....

Hey Lynne :)

Speed - As Andy and Mark really, the centre one is the brightest yet still, but the two either side work nicely

Thanks Dean....... I'll get me coat & stick with accepted norm in future....maybe :naughty:

Hi Lynne

Hi matey...must say your version is far better than mine...yours is how it should be ...mine how it shouldn't be...:'(

Hi Chris...bit confused over the DOF thing...I wanted the centre one & the centre of the other 2 to be sharp so that worked...not sure why the centre one seems smaller though ...maybe because of the motion & that it's a little lower:thinking:

Cheers mister....f29 was a senior moment ( I get a lot of them these days ! )

Finally...someone likes the arrangement......one shot with all 3 in...not smart enough to stitch 3 images together :D I have lots of foresight...I have 2 bags of stuff that I've bought knowing they'll come in handy at some point this year

Thanks Brian...the composition breaks the rule I think of slow building to fast left to right.....I do like to be different :D

had an idea , bought a prop & off we go........thanks to Iain for inspiring me on this one

STEPping up on to STEPpping stones... ( spell checker's not keen on that little lot !)

Wk 30 step jpeg by llj666, on Flickr

Nice n simple so I thought....bloomin difficult to get the little fella to stand up for longer than 5 sec's :bonk:

Excellent shot Iain Lynne ;)

I really like that, Nicely set up, well lit and a real good idea

....bloomin difficult to get the little fella to stand up for longer than 5 sec's :bonk:
You can get little blue tablets for that I believe :naughty:

Hi Lynne

.think the only thing not working with the windmills is the order of them.

Liking steps and good to see any left to right OCD's are being fought... can't fault that one.

Hi Lynne, just a quick catch up.

Process, Nice DOF and I love the pretty pink flower. It works for the theme and I didn’t notice the pointy bits behind the bloom until you mentioned them!

Rock, cracking shot, lovely contrast and foreground detail, the cloud really draws my eye into the distance

Pair, is that cheating? I really like them as they’re very calming, could make very nice greeting cards. I like the B&W ones but the colour are more pleasing on the eye.

Reshoot, I have to go with below. Having stalked these little buggers nearly the whole time I was on sick leave I know how difficult they are to catch in focus, you’ve done a great job here

Shape, again I’m going with the colour version. Lovely contrast between the straight and the bits on the end. I like the varying DOF.

Plenty, if only you could have seen the future for last week’s theme :bonk: The bike shots are great, and although shoe horned they work for me! Is there any reason why your siggy is right through the shots? As for the crops, why didn’t you get out there with some gardening tools to straighten things up

Speed, I’m not sure on the composition as in maybe they should be in a line, or varying speed across the shot, but I imagine that to be a nightmare! But I do like the fact the little wooden ball things on all three are in focus

Steps, hahahahahaha, you’ve spent too much time with Iain and stolen his props! Not complaining though I think it works really well. I would maybe twist the left hand out in a more ‘balanced’ pose and sort his posture out :runaway:
Oh and I’m sire Iain would love to see a little drop shadow to finish the photo off !

Cheers, glad you’ve signed up for another year already! I intend to ‘participate’ a lot more next year!

 me inspiring you?
Did that inspiration come from my stepping stone incident in Cumbria? :suspect:

I think this is brilliant Lynne, superbly lit, composed and generally well executed

Nowt more to say, I think it's perfect :D

Nope, can't add anything to what's been said, it's pretty much spot on. Did you use a lightbox for this?

Lovely light on your little fella and his steppppppppppping stones there Lynne. Well done.

Hi Lynne
nice stepping stone pic though the models pose is quite amusing, nice white BG and beautifully lit subject

Hi, Lynne, yeah that works for me. Cracking lighting and composition. Nice shadows on the pebbles and nice clean BG.

Crit, well I can I can understand watermarks, but have never used them myself. On this one I feel it does detract from the cleanness...and it would be very easy to clone out due to the plain BG.

Anyways, just my opinion and you've produced the goods here

Cheers.

Is the little fella a bit tipsy? :D

Great image, sorry can't add to what's already been said.

Excellent shot Iain Lynne ;)

I shall take your word about the little blue tablets....:D

:lol::lol::lol:
Lynne, that's really good, I like it

Cheers Michael

Thanks Graham....think it's a draw on preference of the windmill order & yes...sometimes I can beat my OCD's...just :D

WOW...thanks for the mega catch up Marsha ,I know howbusy you are currently so it's much appreciated .: My siggy on the bike shots is simply to make it less attractive for them to download as bikers tend to be ,how shall we say .....frugal is a good word I think . I have no objection to sending them high res copies but I object when they don't even ask !
& yes...the pose of the wooden fella is a bit suspect...didn't spot it until it was mentioned on here ..........
