Thanks for looking and commenting Michelle:)

That works for me Iain, were all the photos taken on a single match or did you have to use a few more?

Jon, this is a montage of 8 shots from about 100:lol:
It took a bit of manipulation of the various matches to get it just how I wanted. As mentioned above, there was a lot of faffage to strike the match, place it, and take the photograph. Glad this one's over. Iain

Next time place the match and then use a lighter or another match to light it :D

Good work Iain, that's worked really well. Bang on theme too.

Lovely "Chemistry" image Iain! I thought about doing a burning match myself but remembered trying to photograph a burning candle ages ago and what a PITA it was!! :gag:

I genuinely think your 52 is getting better as it goes along....it's showing real progress!!

The way you've put these together is brilliant
Obviously a lot of work went into this one.

It's a shame that you couldn't get every shot cropped to the same size, but it still works well as it is - and well done on getting 8 sharp and usable shots for it.

Are you still so keen for week 11 now that you've seen what the theme is ?

EDIT :  on the triptych for play. I like that.

Damien praise indeed from a photography god;) All kidding aside thanks for the comments, I am working hard at this 52. I am glad that it;s beginning to show:thumbs:

Sarah, thanks to you too. As I said above, there was faffage to put this together, i am glad that its gone :D. As for week 11:gag: I think the answer to that would be no, I am not that keen but hey nobody said it would be easy!

Great idea with teh marbles, the single shot is the one for me the lighting and composition is spot on.

I didn't realise how many matches there were untill I started commenting, I like how you've caught it from start to finish.

Well I found this a tough week inspiration wise, I thought of different ways and definitions of candid but arrived at the two below, I couldn't make my mind up, I like them both for different reasons.
I took a walkabout Chelmsford, which is close to where I live. This couple were part of a lindy-hop (sp) dance group and were completely absorbed in the dancing. I like this image as it has a couples theme running through it. I hope you can see it!

This second image I like because this lovely young woman was lost in her music, she really brightened up what was a dull day, both with her music and the bright coloured flowers.

I will be playing catch-up next week as I am away for the whole week to Tunisia playing golf :D So I will 'see' you all in a weeks time. Thanks for looking

Love both of your candid shots this week- the first because I can see the couples theme and the second because she was so oblivious to you taking her picture.

Thanks Sue, I am very happy with these mainly because I was so far out of my comfort zone on this awkward (for me) theme. Iain

Hi I am loving Number one, it has a Happy feel to it, you really caught the emotions :)

Iain, both are very good, yep got the couple theme going on in the first one. The eye contact between the dancers is good. I think though that the second works better for me, she's clearly engrossed (if not lost) in the music, and I think it's a clearer shot.

They're both top shots, #1 just wins it for me though. they really are totally unaware of everything and everyone.

Well done not only for getting out of your comfort zone, but for getting something good too.

The couples theme is definitely coming through in the first one, both with the elderly couple in the background and the statue on the right.
You've caught a good moment between the two dancers too.

I think I prefer the second shot out of the two though - probably because it has more of a traditional portrait feel.
It's nicely composed and I love those splashes of colour. It's definitely candid though. She's clearly engrossed in her music.

Second one for me Iain - the background in the first is just a little too busy for me.

I'm liking #1 Iain. Mainly because of the facial expressions. However something's not quite working with it.

Initially I thought "crop the blob of rock to the right" then saw the couple in the masonry. I wonder if a landscape crop through the three couples and losing the empty concrete and bland sky might give it a touoch more impact. It's a great shot.

#2 is OK, but doesn't carry the expressiveness I'd like to see in a Candid. That's probably just me though.

Last week, I was playing golf in Tunisia and whilst there thought about last weeks theme of produce. I came up with the idea of the 'produce' of the country with its rich colours and glorious sunshine. This is not the first time I have posted a collage of images, apologies but this is what I thought worked best. As always C&C welcome. Thanks for looking.

4 vibrant and colourful shots mate well done. They could all stand alone as a submission and have merit. As a 4 they are ok but the oranges stand out as different as they are the only ones off the tree. Is this goin to be your entry for quad too?

Like them both, #1 is great, showing people just having fun

Jon, the dancers certainly were having fun, they brightened up what really was a dull day. Thanks for your comments.

Madmadam, it really did have a happy feel to it, their dancing and music got all the shoppers dancing too! I just happened to be around, I didnt know if I would get any images that day.

I like love them both! Fantastic and both tell such a story!

Nattelie, thanks for your comments, I am glad that you love them:) it is much appreciated

Sarah, first up thanks for the heads up on last weeks theme:)
I think I too am favouring the second image, probably more for the colour in the young womens flowers. She was really engrossed in her music, completely oblivious to my taking her photograph. I put a couple of quid in her instrument case for being my 'model' :D

Second one for me Iain - the background in the first is just a little too busy for me.

Paul, I agree the background is busy, and the dull sky doesn't help either but I am pleased with the composition of the dancers and the older couple in the background. Thanks for your comments.

Ian, thanks for your comments and suggestions. i do agree with you about the sky and the background.

Chris, it was the vibrant colours that really caught my eye and like them as standalone images but I wanted to show the range of Tunisian produce and not one single fruit. I would have liked more time to search out an orange grove but my playing golf got in the way:D

I had an idea in mind, rows of different fruit laid out on a market stall showing all their produce but time conspired against me.

Yes, that could work as quad too
Thanks for looking
Iain

Nice colours there Iain - not sure what the blue stuff is in the background - oh it's the sky - thought that was always dull grey - been raining here all day again!!

Seriously, the captures look great against the sunny sky!

Paul, taking photographs under a sunny blue sky felt almost a cheat when comparing the conditions to back home. I dont know what i would have done had I been here in sunny Essex. The subject of the photographs seem almost out of context when I compare them to the time of year I took them IYSWIM

Ian,

As I jealous? Not in the slightest! Bstardo.

Week 11. Candid - I was going to say nice shot apart from that great big concrete thing on the right, then I actually read what you wrote, then noticed the couple in it, so  (Though my fave pic of yours is still "talk to the paw")

Second one for me though - she's in her own little world.

Week 12. Produce - Hey you could do week 12 and 13 with that one, and when I post my week 13 in the next 5 mins, you will claim I got the idea from that!

Might it work better with a small gap and border between and around the fur images, in black - just that the joins look a bit weird with the different blues and a small bit of seperation would maybe help?

Hey what do I know though..........

 Do you have any idea how depressing those shots are when all we've had is days of grey drizzle?

:) Glad you enjoyed your break and it looks like the weather was great.
All 4 of these are good shots. Bright, sunny, vibrant. A shame that you couldn't get oranges on the tree, but the blue crate that they're in ties in with the blue sky in the others.

It's worked really well as a collage too . . . but the irony of that composition given what this weeks theme is!

Ah... four bits of produce... did you know what theme was coming for this week and opted to kill two birds at once so that you could sit stuffing yourself with chocolate next sunday? :D

Some lovely colour here, though they do feel a little snappish.

Irony :bang:, too late now Sarah, I've posted it for last week's theme

Lovely rich vibrant colours - nice foursome

Thanks Nick:thumbs:

Lee, I have to go with having posted it for last weeks theme :bang:
I can see where you are coming from with the snappish comment, i thought creating a collage would make the images as one, a bit more interesting hey ho! Thanks for looking/commenting:thumbs:

Who can give a relatively easy to use image processor?

I don't know what possessed you to post this in here but try the free software Picassa or Gimp for starters.
