weekly blakesters 2014 52 - Retired Gracefully

Week 2 - Play
I have shot something similar for last years 52 but fancied a revisit with this subject.
For info, I created the figures using cheapo Tesco forks, bent into shape by my own fair hands.

"And the band played on'

C&C welcome as always.

What a great idea...very creative and imaginative...love this one :)

Thankyou Susie, its a bit of a default subject for me for my 52 week challenges but I can't help it :D

as long as these were all made freshly for the theme, I can only give this a resounding

Love that you can even tell what instrument each of them is playing.

Thanks Graham, not freshly made for the theme but freshly photographed :D

Excellent, your fork people are always a pleasure to see but this is just expecptional. I really like the reflection.

As usual cracking standard. Well composed and super detail. The slight vignette really works. Good reflections. Lighting suits the subject.

Crit, well I do like to leave crit.....but I got nowt

Cheers.

Thanks Andy, time was marching on what with the themes coming out on a Friday evening this year.
I thought I'd get this in on time. Its a default subject I know and I have told myself that i must shoot outside more this year but i couldn't help it ;)

Hi Iain, nothing to add to whats been said always a pleasure to see your creations (y)

Nice :D

The reflection of the piano is a little distracting, maybe a slightly tighter crop or a little wider, or even clone it out.

Thanks Mark, I see what you mean about the reflection (y)

Most excellent completely love it :D (y)

Even had to nip over to Flickr and fave it - that's high praise from me :D

Hi Iain, you have a real skill when it comes to creating those figures, very nice.

One minor critique, the highlights on the reflections of the two centre figures appear to be blown out compared to the rest of the shot.

Excellent  you have far too much time on your hands :D

Thanks Graham, not freshly made for the theme but freshly photographed :D

So where do these little chaps live in the mean-time... If you keep all your prop-friends, you must have quite a collection by now!

very clever stuff ... and on a reflective floor too (y)

just out of interest ... have you ever tried building a backdrop resembling a jazz club or, using layers, creating an image with a photo of a stage??

Considering you did that yourself that is pretty creative, I like it - probably the best image I've seen for 'play' so far (y)

Fair point about the reflection.

Iain a great take on the theme... and a brilliant way to show it off... love what you have done with the cutlery...

Thanks Colin (y)
I do enjoy the making of the props, I must admit.

An artist AND photographer; you have it all! :)

Thanks Martin (y)

Excellent  you have far too much time on your hands :D

Thanks Phil (y)

Graham, they are in various boxes and drawers around the house & shed :D

I haven't tried incorporating a background no, beyond my skill set in PP I'm afraid.

Great shot. I know it's one of your "standard" images but even so it has been well thought out and created as well as well it and captured. Nice one Iain.

Thanks Peter (y)
There is only room for a few default images in a 52 I think and I've used one so early on :D

Play ~ Amazing both the idea and the shot are first class.
If this was a competition and not a personal challenge I would be giving up now.
