Flash In The Pan said:The whole episode strikes me as a "Thatcher's Falklands" attempt at boosting Obama's approval rating in time for the next election.
What utter tosh!

I find his death hard to celebrate. If fact I find it quite sad that others take delight in another human beings death.:|
What utter tosh!
10 years, trillions of dollars, thousands of soldiers dead, all that state of the art technology and the US finally found Bin Laden......................in his house
(shouldve just listed islamabad sorting office )if, say for example, the death had been announced soon after Obama came to power, that's 3 years for the jubilation to die down and for the public to begin refocussing on the state of the economy and all Obama's unfulfilled promises.

i tell you what i cant wait to see this helmet cam video of the whole operation, its going to be like an awesome real version of call of duty modern warefare, naturally with a lot of bleeped audio and blacked out faces

Mmmmm!Well the Bush family along with Blair et al have certainly done a good job of killing several hundred thousands of people over the last few years.... and it's still going on by Cameron and Barack Osama..... and it will get worse ......
I nominate a coalition of Bush and Blair.

On reflection you're right, when have you ever known a politician to manipulate things to serve their own interests......![]()
So where are the ticker tape parades? It's the average Joe who's all whoop-di-doop about it, much in the same way as they criticized the "towel heads" after 9/11.
A manipulated birth certificate on the other hand...
So they won't release any pics of Osama, they haven't got his body and killed him even though he was unarmed when he resisted.
Does anyone see any gaping holes here? Any mug can go on telly and say this happened, just that when Barack Obama does it people listen.
There was a pic on the TV news immediately after the announcement of his death - clear head wounds visible. One thing's for sure - if he isn't dead it'll soon be clearly demonstrated ... but it won't be because he's had a summary execution.
Obama said they captured him in one sentence and he resisted and was killed in the next, to me they just went there to execute him
And you don't think he would be infinitely more useful alive?
America still practices execution, if he doesn't speak, then they are more than capable of dealing with him.
Personally I would prefer he rot in a prison getting bummed on a daily basis.
It does seem to be a trend..... and it's Gadaffi next... and then..... and then.... and then.
Mr Bin Laden was well over due for his double tap. May he rot in hell.
We're not going to get anywhere with fighting an enemy with boy scout rules of engagement when they have no such restrictions, or reservations about torture and removing peoples heads very slowly without anaesthetic.
I think he would have only been of use if taken alive, if unknown to the rest of the world.
I believe global knowledge of his capture alive would be too inflammatory and the US would have been urged to execute him from their own people I'm sure.
Getting killed in the chaos of a raid is somewhat plausible even if the rest of us believe the command was direct from Obama himself.

It's pretty clear that the operation had one objective and that was to kill Bin Laden - I can't say my sensibilities are offended by the idea. He received as much consideration as his poor innocent victims of 9/11 and certainly less of a terrifying end than the poor sods who had a choice between burning to death and leaping into space.

Some people have short memories - good riddance!

So was the "Moon landing"![]()

I heard on the radio over the weekend that he has been inactive as leader of operations for the aQ since 9/11 as he had been concentrating on not being caught. If true, that means aQ activities and orders form the last 10 years haven't come from him.
Hell? Is there such a place? If so, there must be a Heaven - not sure who's going there...
So, judging by your reply, he didn't deserve to die?
Just maybe sentence him to life in prison here in the uk? Out in 12years.
Would that suit you?
