Best shows on Prime/Netflix?

I just added that to my watchlist (it came up on main highlight section). Can't wait for Fallout S2, loved the first season.
Have you checked out all the little extras from the first season? I only noticed the other day.

I'm also geeking out on fallout 4 :ROFLMAO:

I've not seen them?

They're worth a look. Lots of behind the scenes stuff. 1st bit is around 30 mins, and the rest are little 2 minute bites.

Nice, I'll check it out.

There's also the ghoul log on Amazon now, which is quite funny to listen to (more a radio show). WG introduction through ;)

I think it may have just left Amazon Prime annoyingly but would massively recommend RoboDoc which is a four part documentary series on Robocop. I'm a little wary these types of behind the scenes videos can spoil the magic but I was completely wrong, I came away extremely impressed with all the people involved and the amount of work I hadn't realised was needed to make it the film it is.

Watched a few of the Fallout extras and I never would have thought that it was filmed using film and not digital.

I worked in the film industry whilst in London and I remember back then just as High Definition digital was taking hold, it was still not considered anywhere near the same quality as traditional film so they would still be prepared to spend the huge cost of film and developing. This was the reason I was told why a a 30 sec commercial for a hair product (which involved Jennifer Aniston's hardressor) had a £10k bill for the film and a £10k bill for developing the film. However, when considering the cost of airing the commercial, £20k was trivial, especially if it meant the best quality.

I would have thought digital would have long overtaken film now in terms of quality, but the guy in the extra scenes said that film was always kinder on faces.

He was proper Old School in that sense. I've re-watched since, and you can see with all the flaring.
I loved all the passion everyone was showing too. Although I bet there was some cursing at times ;)

Ha small world. I worked for an ADR studio in the 80's, and that was all 35mm film.

Been watching "Parish" on Netflix. Pretty good so far. Always like Giancarlo Esposito (y)

That'll do nicely, I've been needing something new. I've also got the The Wire complete Blu-ray box set on standby.

Just finished season 2 of The Recruit. I was kind of on the fence with season 1 and same with season 2, but it's strangely watchable. That is until the final episode of season 2. What on earth were they thinking. Felt like they had ran out of time with the script.

First episode of Parish was good, a bit weird seeing Giancarlo is a different role due to how prominent he was as Gus. Only annoying thing is the lack of hardcoded forced subtitles, so had to switch them on and off a few times.

He is pretty versatile. Don`t forget his Dark Saber antics in Mando, too ;)

Also Fallout 2 starts today :)

Oh yeah, I forgot all about him in Mando! That's a rewatch on the burner because I've recently ploughed through all the other Star Wars films.

Is Fallout 2 the whole lot dumped in one go, or is it one episode at a time? I know that I'll want to binge watch it.

Mando is a great show.

Nah F2 is one a week. But ep1 rocked (y)

Finished Parish, good to watch and obviously left wide open for another season.

Just finishing Vietnam (Austrailia) on Amazon Prime. Old but very powerful.

About to start Fallout Season 2.

Got back into Young Sheldon again. It's more for passing the time when such arises.

Waiting until February so I can binge watch, but will probably rewatch season 1 while I'm waiting.
I'm watching it bit by bit. But will go through it again when it's all out. Three episodes in and waiting for the next one lol

Finished Stranger Things season 5. Had some good twists in it and was enjoyable. Really gives the surround system and sub a workout! lol

Still waiting for all episodes of Fallout 4 to be available before watching it.

It: Welcome to Derry. I haven't watched it yet as I don't have Prime or Netflix right now. Does anyone know if it's showing? Maybe Shudder?

New season of Traitors is on BBC. (y)

Enjoying the new twist? Can't wait for Wednesday.

Aye, they are pretty clever at coming up with twists! lol

Trying to work out who it is, I did think it was Judy and my wife thinks it is Amanda (my second choice because she so desperately wanted it). We've only watched two episodes, so got the third one for this evening.

We aren't sure how genuine Jessie is with her stammer.

Fun fact. My wife used to know Amanda, she wasn't that much of a detective! :ROFLMAO:

Watching episode 3 and changed my mind to Fiona being the secret traitor. Especially after the comment about not being bothered about a shield.

Watched "Tron Ares" the other night.
Story is a bit meh, but visually spectacular and great sound if you want to give your system a workout (y)

Ha! I watched that as well the other night. I had just watched Tron Legacy because it's supposed to be the unofficial benchmark for testing out surround systems, so figured I'd watch Ares as well. I guess it may have been difficult to come up with a decent follow on story after Legacy and the obvious natural progression was what it was in Ares. They've left it wide open for another one though lol

Yeah I noticed that, too. But the only story line I can think of is that they meet up, and are subsequently hunted by Encom and Dillinger etc etc.
Might have to watch Legacy again though for the umpteen time.

Re watching "Justified" at the moment, to pass time. Fun show.

I watched it elsewhere it’s not on Netflix but you can buy the season or episodes on Prime.

I really enjoyed it very good watch. Probably the best thing I have seen in a while.

It’s on Sky Atlantic, so anywhere you can get that. NOW tv is probably the cheapest option.

Just started watching The Expanse and went into it expecting cheap and cheesy, but it's actually quite good. Not keen on the cliche cop with the hat and the CGI isn't Lucas level, but it's still decent. Enjoying the storyline. It's on Amazon.

Thanks guys regarding It series - I'll buy an episode on Amazon to see what it's like :)

It's one of my absolute favourite TV series and it is slow to get started since with a sci-fi series there's a lot to introduce. It's also a bit different from many other sci-fi series because there's no artificial gravity which affects everything, those brought up in space lack the muscles to live in earth's gravity while ships are designed to simulate gravity under thrust (so they're more like a flying skyscraper with the floors at 90 degrees to the direction of travel) then have to turn round to do braking burns to gradually slow the ship down.

The visuals get better and one of the battles near the end is easily one of my favourite sci-fi battles, they do a great job taking what looks like fairly boring weapons technology and make it impressive to watch. There's a lot of insane attention to detail particularly on the ship displays which you have to pause to be able to see but that's the sort of thing I really like.

People rave about Miller but I wasn't a huge fan of his character but there's plenty other really good characters and also good storylines, I initially didn't bother watching the series because I didn't like the idea of the limited technology which sounded boring but it's the opposite, there's no fancy remodulating the shield emitters to get round a problem and the setting of space itself is often extremely deadly.
