Hi folks,
I'm off to Vietnam in October for a hiking/kayaking trip and looking for a suitable camera since my 8-year old Ixus is starting to wear out.
I really don't want to be carrying anything more than a handheld camera and given the climate I was thinking of getting one of the rugged/waterproof compacts that have come onto the market lately, although I don't actually plan to use it under water (so depth sealed is not vital).
My big concerns are picture quality (particularly at high ISO) and availability of spare batteries (limited chance to charge batteries on the two week trip - I typically buy two spare batteries for all my cameras).
Based in the UK (if that limits recommendations).
Many thanks.
